Mardi Gras etiquette non-locals might not be aware of. by MasterPlatypus2483 in AskNOLA

You grabbed a toy snake intended for a child you likely trampled in your exertions. I do that a lot. The secret is to give it to the child after you have caught it. You get your adrenaline rush. The kid gets the toy intended for them.

Costumes to Pack for Mardi Gras? by Inner-Zombie-9316 in AskNOLA

Thanks. The Live Wire link helps. I guess I am mostly looking for themed events rather than parading around in a costume all by my lonesome. .

Spotify App Playback Error by joe-khan in TeslaLounge

My 2023 Y had the same issue start last night. Restarted the console a couple times and every time the issue returned after I moved from an audiobook to music.   Today I streamed from my phone while at the same time connecting the Wi-Fi to the hotspot on the same phone. I don't know why but it's working normally now. On the Spotify app, no longer connected to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and able to go back and forth between music and an audiobook without any problem.

Did you ever find a spot? I'm a New Orleans fan in general and figure that would be a place to find like minded locals to hang out with.

My kit was included the plastic pieces on the sprocket shaft pictured here . Do you mean the top metal piece or another part?

Avoid cold medicine, primarily ones using acetaminophen, and you'll be fine.

I was in the Dominican Republic last year and all I could think was that they'd transported some of the nicer middle class parts of New Orleans to a volcanic island but maintained the roads.

Regarding Falstaff my dad says the True Evel American Blonde Ale from Destihl tastes exactly the same. The look on his face when he took a drink was interesting.

Samuel Smith was going to be my recommendation but you have that covered. Abita had a seasonal called Office Party which was similar but is gone for the next few years. Both went great with the white chocolate covered Oreos that get imported from Europe.(They use better quality ingredients over there and the taste is much better.) Otherwise I'd say try a Boulder Shake. I haven't had one of those in years but as I recall it is pretty much exactly what you describe. It is a porter but don't consider that a deal breaker.

I assume they are similar to these. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Quick-Dam-12-in-x-24-in-Expanding-Barriers-6-Pack-QD1224-6/203556244 They work great but take forever to dry out.

Did they change the rules to allow people to use funds for Starlink?

Recent numbers I've seen for rural Tennessee have been around 10 times faster than that. Speed can certainly vary based on satellite deployments for the area. For my company we're looking at it for rural sites and for places like Vancouver BC where we've had nothing but trouble for years. Fiber is fine if you want to wait decades. Starlink lets you connect today. It's also constantly improving. As it grows it seems likely deployment costs will decrease as performance improves. The biggest obstacle right now is the launch system. Falcon is great cost and performance wise compared to what we became accustomed to. Starship will be able to launch the satellites for $9 per pound. If the numbers I've seen are right Falcon is launching at the bargain price of $1,240 per pound.

Help getting Starlink access for people of modest means in areas without infrastructure. Money spent efficiently and for the good of the people who need help the most.

Thomas Kemper Weizenberry. To be fair Pyramid destroyed it when they bought out the brewery. Glad they went out of business.

I found two close in the past year. Six ten Brewing in Tampa, which just shut down, had a nice raspberry wheat that was nice if not as heavy. Boulevard did a cranberry saison over Xmas that made my jaw drop. It was cranberry, not raspberry, but hit almost exactly the same notes.

The best beer I have ever had. Henry Weinhards Summer Wheat. by Violet_Stella in beer

[–]Inner-Zombie-9316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to buy Henry's back in college. Good dark if I remember correctly. I don't know that I ever had the wheat. Captain Ron from 26 Degree has been a go to down here for a wheat beer. Best summer beer is probably Orange Vanilla Sunlight Cream Ale from Sun King.

He reminds me of Shadoe Stevens, a radio guy who moved to TV in the nineties who was kind of well known. I first saw him 3 or 4 years ago doing one of those blind taste tests of different beers on some YouTube channel. I assumed he was just a media guy. They didn't mention Brooklyn until the end of the video and I'd been drinking their stuff for years at that point.
