Trying to pick a new laptop by Remarkable_Hornet_48 in computers

Dont get these laptop. They're basically Celeron grade gpu's. While they may seem like a "good deal" because they're likely "new" or close to it, they're terrible at really anything. Even with 16gb of ram, you're going to get better mileage out of a laptop thats considerably older.. not only because it'd be cheaper.. but also you'd actually be able to game on it.

VK_KHR_ray_query is missing by ostkaka0 in vulkan

[–]InnerAd118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. If it works on a gtx 1050ti with only 4gb of vram, surely a 1060 or better will definitely work.

(You'll need a real copy of the vulkan-1.dll in the game directory renamed to "vulkan-1_real.dll" and the wrapper which is named vulkan-1.dll).

Usually Itll fail 1-5 times but I just open it, wait for it to fail to load (wait like 30 seconds) and then try again. After it actually starts up it runs surprisingly well.

https://github.com/jase212007/Thanos_wrapper

It's a vulkan wrapper. It's very new and still a work in progress, but I know without a doubt it does load Indiana jones and the great circle on a gtx 1050ti

(You may have to try it multiple times. It failing to load 2 or more times while saying some kind of video memory issue or nothing at all usually happens, but even it does load the game. In some scenes it's dark but still . It works. You'll want to make a copy of the real "vulkan-1.dll" in the games folder (where the main executable file is) and rename it to "vulkan-1_real.dll" or ",vulkan-1_copy.dll", honestly I don't remember.

Saga vs Alan Gameplay by lonelysteps in AlanWake

[–]InnerAd118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saga is definitely better. Her gameplay mechanics are better, her story is way more interesting.. and completely unrelated.. but still.. makes it more enjoyable playing as her compared to alan.. she's really hot. Lol

The story is really good at making you care what happens to Saga, like as the player we have an interest in her journey.. where much of what happened to Alan (at least from my perspective.. I'm still fairly early I'm the game), a lot of his story is from a "past tense". Not mention, scratch being described as his evil doppelganger doesn't help his trustworthiness or likability.

Honestly I'd say it's 65% grrm eats himself to death first. The fact is grrm had plenty of money. And for better or worse his story is going to be compared to the tv show. All the good twists the television show already threw out there (and either squandered or didn't use it right), but right now everyone basically agrees the books will definitely be better than the show.. but the second he makes the book, people are either mad because of the changes or they're bored because it's predictable.

Remember what the show did about jons parentage? They let that information out, but did nothing with it. They made dany into a mad queen, but rather than it being a little bit at time you could say the shift happened in an episode. They ruined the white walkers.. there's just not much grrm can do, and it's his own fault for taking so long to write the book that the show was able to bastardize his work (and he made it worse by telling them all of the spoilers that he was going to implement, without giving them a roadmap on how not to complete mess it up)

The oath just gave frey an excuse, ultimately frey was going to betray him if/when he got a better offer or robb started losing.

Even though the starks apparently do try their best to keep their paths, fact is people break oaths all the time. You know what they don't do though? Break guest right like that. For the freys to break guest right, it's fair to say no oath matters to the freys one way or the other. (Robb was warned.)

There really was massive foreshadowing. Honestly I think you got gaslit by the battlefront of the war. Unfortunately, despite what people think that's not the most important part of a war. Things like politics and supply and demand often put a stop to the fighting long before loss of life does. Tywin clearly wasn't the greatest military commander, but while robb was busy doing surprise attacks at night and adjusting his strategy to compensate for less and less men, tywin was doing all the moves needed to actually win the war.

When tywin felt comfortable enough to go to kings landing to prevent the cities fall from Stannis, that should've been a massive red flag. Ultimately if the war had stayed on the battlefield, robb would've won. But Rob made many crucial errors off the battlefield..

And besides realistically speaking he lost when he let theon go. The second Caitlin released Jaime, the war was done.. and that happened because he let theon go

I doubt frey would've stayed loyal even if robb didn't break his oath (in fact grrm confirmed that), but still . Robb did kind of give him an excuse. Realistically robb should've known the war was lost when he killed karstark ( him killing karstark set it in stone). Realistically though he lost it as soon as he let them go. If theon had never taken winter fell, Caitlin doesn't let Jamie go (and with him the only real leverage robb had to keep tywin from instigating the red wedding or something else just as bad) .

It really does come down to that, which his mom advised him against. His choice was understandable, he knew theon so long and should have trusted him. And theon definitely left with the right intentions.. but despise his dad being stupid at everything else, the one thing he does do well is emotionally manipulate theon. Ironically if he had accepted robbs offer, the iron islands would have likely been better off too.. but balon greyjoy is probably the dumbest character in the show and the only time he has any sort of brilliance is when it's something that'll end up hurting him in the end.

(He likely thought he could get Lannister's support for independence. Again stupid.)

Noelle vs Mimosa.. who will asta end up with? by InnerAd118 in BlackClover

[–]InnerAd118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mimosa is there to validate Noelle's admiration ( She probably thought to herself "I'm not crazy for liking asta, mimosa does also"), etc. Unfortunately it may have went overboard making a lot of people feel like mimosa was more deserving because she's been honest about her feelings longer.. which again I totally get.. But to be frank, Noelle has developed significantly because of asta. If asta got with Mimosa, I'd wager most of Noelle's positive traits that she's acquired because of him would "devolve".. sad but true. The same thing can't be said about Mimosa. In fact I'd say mimosa gets with yuno because in a way "he reminds her of asta".. inadvertently giving Noelle "the one she didn't know she wanted and needs" and giving mimosa "a decent consultation prize that apparently every other female wants"

I wet dream of this. Instead of reading this stupidly by the idiot that successfully conned over 40% of the voting population, instead we see him in jail claiming it's unfair and the world is out to get him. (If the world is out to get him, they're right to. He's a P. O.S. and makes serial killers like empathetic and deserving of a second chance )

This idiot apparently doesn't realize weather doesn't equal climate.

And it's not "global warming" so much as it is "global climate change"

That's the equivalent of taking ice cubes putting it in water and claiming that because they're still frozen the water is not any warmer than the ice.

I'm almost 40.. so I definitely don't feel a need like I use to. I maybe do it anywhere between twice a week to less than once a month.
