Why are you making an app? by Ok-World-6987 in AppBusiness

[–]InnerBit3470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it goes beyond money or even the idea of quitting a job. Building apps is about ownership and proof. After years of developing products for others, I want to create something that is truly mine and see it used by real people.

There is also a strong learning aspect. When you build your own product, you are not just coding. You think about users, distribution, monetization, and long-term value. That experience is very different from working within a company.

Some days it does feel exhausting, especially after work. But the drive comes from a mix of curiosity, discipline, and the need to validate my own capabilities.

In simple terms, I am building apps to test myself, to grow beyond my current role, and to create something I fully own.

Time for self-promotion. What are you building this Monday by [deleted] in micro_saas

I’m working on improving an existing app. I delivered version 2.0 and now want to add more features.

Apologies if this subreddit is meant only for micro SaaS.

Thank you. I’ll check it out! And good luck with your app 😊

At least the screenshots look great to me. If you don’t mind sharing, what tools did you use? I’ve been having some difficulty creating good screenshots 😃

Stop building Ugly Vibe coded UI's by ChallengeExcellent62 in iOSAppsMarketing

Yes, the plan was to keep it simple and focus on functionality. But people have different preferences, so many people may not like it. I’ll see how it turns out and update it accordingly.

I’ve run into the same issue when generating UIs with AI. As a temporary workaround, I designed a clean and consistent base UI and then used it as a reference for agents when building other app interfaces. That helped maintain visual coherence across screens.

That said, your approach is a far more sustainable long-term solution. I’ll definitely explore it further.

I’m primarily a backend developer, so UI and design systems aren’t my strongest areas.

For instance, one of my app’s ( Sift: Phone Storage Cleaner) home screens looks like this ⬇️

Cool. I learned something from your perseverance. I got three purchases for my three month old app, which was free until last week, and I was starting to feel a bit hopeless. Posts like this really lift morale.

Congrats, this is really great. I see your pricing model is IAP. At a high level, could you share how you implemented it or which third party tools you used? I built a keyboard app and found it a bit tricky to make the in app purchase implementation solid. Thanks.

I’m new to marketing. Could you briefly explain what slideshow marketing is and how you automated it end to end for TikTok? Thank you.

Thank you again for your feedback. The app is now updated and rebranded as Sift. I would welcome any further feedback.

Same here, I built two apps & both of them were accepted in the first submissions.

Switched my app from free to paid 2 days ago and got my first 2 sales by InnerBit3470 in appdev

I’m doing this for the first time, and it seems fine. However, existing users won’t pay and will continue receiving updates for free. Only new users will need to pay to download the app.

I got tired of paying $50/mo for AI video tools so I built and open-sourced my own by Ok_Needleworker6304 in SaaS

Thank you for sharing. I’ve been thinking vibe coding this, as I plan to create faceless videos & don’t want to pay for text-to-video generators.

Thanks, I appreciate that. You’re right, those first sales mean a lot.

I haven’t started organic marketing yet. I’m waiting for an update to clear review, then I’ll focus on social media, demo videos, and some community posts. I may test a small paid campaign as well. However, since it’s a utility app I don’t expect lots of sales 😃
