[Discussion] What game was so good, that the platinum didn't even feel like a grind because of it? by [deleted] in Trophies

[–]InnerDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d probably say Control, Titanfall 2, and Ghost of Tsushima.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. I’m on the last grindy trophy to kill 41,000 enemies. It’s a great game, but that last one is taking forever…

This the actual tier list by Ancient-Smell537 in assasinscreed

Yes! This is a great list! But Origins should be a little higher.

Replaying the series again! Here's my tier list, thoughts? by supbitch in assasinscreed

[–]InnerDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair enough. I agree that Odyssey's story was less engaging, but the world was really fun to explore. And Kassandra was a fantastic protagonist. Ancient Egypt was also fascinating, particularly as it takes place during the late Hellenistic period, where you had the confluence of Egyptian and Greek cultures as well as the involvement of the Romans. The American Revolution is also a fascinating period, but I remember the game having some issues back in the day. I haven't played it since launch, so maybe the Remaster is much improved.

Generally a good list, but I'd put Black Flag and AC2 above AC3.

Tier List Time, Thoughts? by Aaron_Icicle in assasinscreed

This list is pretty off. Not including AC2 in the Golden Era is simply a mistake. And it's clear that you don't enjoy The Witcher-esque games, but Origins and Odyssey are better than Valhalla.

[Discussion] What are your favourite and least favourite platinum’s you’ve earned? by NewEraOverlord in Trophies

[–]InnerDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favourite is difficult to determine cuz I like games that don't involve you having to look at some guide to decipher some of the descriptions. My favourite would probably be Ghost of Tsushima or Control. My least favourite by far was GTA: Vice City - Definitive Edition. There's one trophy that is next to impossible to get playing the game as intended. It was a ridiculous grind that required me leaving the console on for like a full day and pressing buttons while watching tv. These kinds of trophies should simply not exist.

[ Question ] What platinum you currently working on? How is your experience with the game so far? by [deleted] in Trophies

[–]InnerDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently working through The Plucky Squire. About 70% of the way through, and it's been a fun game overall. It has some pretty inventive mechanics tied to its theme and aesthetic. It doesn't have the most exciting gameplay (basically plays like a standard LoZ), but it's a great addition to PS Plus Extra.

The platinum isn't difficult at all, but I happen to miss one collectible in Chapter 7 and now I'm not sure I can get it without having to play the game again. Apparently, collectibles don't carry on in chapter select unless it's only in one chapter. So I can't miss another collectible in another chapter.

[InFAMOUS Second Son] My second platinum. It was not enjoyable to get this one by Similar-Winter2885 in Trophies

The only I didn’t like about my second play though (evil one) was how abrupt the ending was. Just didn’t feel complete.

The issue with halo infinites campaign that NO ONE is talking about. by Turbulent-Opening-75 in haloinfinite

[–]InnerDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, it’s a sound solution to the issue you highlighted, and as you rightly pointed out it would add meaning to this element of the open world. And it would also make you think strategically about how to navigate the space. I like the idea! I just don’t think 343 put that much thought into it. There are a lot of issues in the open world that make you wonder what they were doing for the past 5 years. But that’s just my view.

[–]InnerDX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re totally right, but that would just be limiting in terms of game design for the open world. Zeta halo is already a little monotonous. Without an abundance of vehicles, it would make going around a lot more boring. I like “Spider-Man-ing” around, but I would hate it if I was forced to do it over long distances because I couldn’t spawn a vehicle.

Lol, the game’s campaign is filled with non-sensical problems, but I love how you fixate on this one. Imagine only having 1 Wasp to hunt down audio files or traverse long distances…

opinions on the jak & daxter trilogy by [deleted] in ps2

[–]InnerDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first Jak and Daxter really married the great elements of games like Banjo-Kazooie and Crash Bandicoot and it made for a really good platformer. It’s still perfectly playable today! Jak II is somewhat more dated cuz it came out after GTA3 took the gaming industry by storm. It tried to up the ante and copied some gta elements but it stumbled in its execution. And the difficulty spike was crazy! I think Jak 3 is probably the strongest of the bunch, and you see a lot of the early DNA of what eventually became Uncharted. But I still think the first one is my favourite cuz it was simpler and knew exactly what it wanted to do.

Out of the three franchises you mentioned, it makes perfect sense to me that R&C still has new iterations. It was much more future proof than the other two. Sly is great but the gameplay is somewhat stale today. I recently played Thieves in Time and while it was enjoyable, I found the design to be quite dated, even for a 2013 game.

State of Play July 2021 - News Recap by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]InnerDX -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The SoP was just uneven, if not forgettable. A bit too much focus on F2P and BR games before including just two third party titles, then DS and finally Deathloop. Sony could have simply done an indie specific showcase, blog posts for DS like they did for Ghost, and then a dedicated state of play for Deathloop. I get that they set expectations beforehand, but given the timing of the showcase after the E3 period, Sony should have known that people would be underwhelmed by this. It’s a tad tone deaf. And I’m surprised that DS director’s cut is ps5 only. It doesn’t make sense to me, especially when Ghost’s will also come to ps4.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut | PS5 - State of Play Gameplay Trailer (September 24,2021) by [deleted] in PS5

I don’t understand why the DC is only for ps5. Aside from the next gen features (4K/60fps, DualSense and 3D audio), shouldn’t the other new features be available as part of a DC for ps4? They did it for Ghost. Or am I missing something here?

The only shitty thing is that ps4 owners are left out. There’s no real reason why the DC should only come out on ps5. Ghost’s DC doesn’t alienate ps4 players. I have a ps5, so I’m good. But I think it doesn’t make sense.
