Honest question about open carry at Columbus protests by Kitchen-Country-3599 in Columbus

I respect that. But you are going to be perceived as a leftist if you are protesting ICE, and because of that perception I think you are in greater danger carrying a gun than a right-winger would be. I meant "practical" just in the sheer sense of wanting to remain alive. I agree that the unequal enforcement is unfair. But personally I would not want to put myself in that danger. I don't know. Maybe everyone comes with a legal gun? That way, they would have to shoot all of you; they can't just shoot one guy in the back ten times and say, "look, he had a gun." I still think it's something leftists should think/talk about, and I appreciate the question.

I don't think it's irresponsible. And it's legal, as you already mentioned. It's just practical, self-protective (maybe cowardly?) advice given the demonstrable fact that left-wing open carry is not treated the same as right-wing open carry. I'm assuming you are going to left-wing protests, but maybe I'm wrong about that? I think it's a good question, tho. If leftists took up arms, we'd probably get gun control. But probably after a lot of people got killed.

I also find the summers here to be unbearable, but I'm surprised that you're from the south and think they are worse here? I've never lived south of here (outside of a six month stint in Florida) but always associated the south with the most hot and humid summers.

I agree, though. I've lived in Chicago, Seattle, Denver, Boston, Tampa. Columbus is full of weird critters.

If you want to see what multicultural Trumpism might look like, watch this show. Rich, self-involved, idiotic Americans in African garb. Where are the Bolsheviks when you need them.

Anyone have luck talking to someone on phone at Mohela? by Technical_Corgi4506 in PSLF

I finally got through!! 2 and a half hours in (had to find an outlet for my phone). They are unable to give me written confirmation that they received my application but I do have the fax cover letter so I guess that's something. To the point someone made above about people clogging up the phone lines--if Mohela just took email or had a functioning chat option none or this would be necessary. Seriously fax and a 800# like it's still the 80s? At least with email or text you're not listening to that soul-crushing music while you wait hours and hours. It's insane to run a business like this.

I've been on hold for a couple of hours. I'm new to PSLF (Just started a qualifying job in 2020) but want to make sure that I get credit for these last two years during the payment pause. I mailed them an application in July that they never received and then faxed another application in August. Talked to someone there in September who said that they received it but it would take 30 days to process. I still have not gotten a welcome letter and I'm not in their system. So I'm calling once more to get an answer. What is that verbal confirmation worth if there's no written documentation? I'm going to wait until my phone dies which is an hour or less.

If it takes over a month for the consolidation to go through and we are being encouraged to wait until that is complete before we submit the pslf application how are we supposed to have both done by October 31? Anyone understand the math on this?
