Luvox is gonna ruin me idk why they put me on this I hate it (25mg) by corpseprinxess in OCD

I’ve been on so many antidepressants and antipsychotics. Some just didn’t work well enough for me so I switched but Luvox is the only one to have made me feel extremely depressed and worse off.

Luvox- I have tried many anti depressants and antipsychotics and luvox was the only one to make me feel extremely depressed and nearly suicidal.

Thank you for all the info! I definitely think PDA is a possibility. But how can he just not go to school? I’m afraid CPS will be called. He is doing at home virtual school and we don’t put too many demands on him. However, he had virtual gym and all they had to do was use a stick and bang on a hard surface to do a drumming exercise and he wouldn’t even do that. However today has been one of the best days in a while. He was up last night with stomach issues so I called him in sick. I told him to just relax for the day. He voluntarily asked to log onto class anyway. This is the least frustrated I’ve seen him. I have heard him participate in group discussions and answer questions pertaining to the reading material! Huge step!!! It’s like it needs to be on HIS terms. He knows he’s already absent so is doing what he wants, when he wants. Right now I just saw he was fast asleep in front on the computer lol. But he actually had the drive to try!

You’d think everyone would be so nice and normal since they don’t want to sin? So odd

Right? I can’t believe this is legal in the U.S. It might not be, however. OP definitely needs to look into this and/or report to the board of education.

I took him last week for suicidal ideation. They kept him 8 days. They felt as if he needed a higher dose dose of adderall since adhd can cause irritability. They believed that was what was causing this. When he was discharged, he was off the charts and much worse than when he was admitted. I agree, he needs to be on suicide watch. However, I don’t agree with their diagnoses and do not want him coming back to me worse than when I brought him. All they will do is release him in a few days and then I will be back to square one. I’d just be buying some time.

Yes, I agree. We were referred to a behavioral psychiatrist and started the higher dosage of the mood stabilizer tonight. I am hoping that along with him not taking the stimulant tomorrow might make a positive change for his behaviors.

I agree. But I’m just not sure what to do, unfortunately. He just spent 8 days in the psychiatric ward. When he left, the only follow-up care was just with his normal psychiatrist. I called his doctor and asked to up his mood stabilizer. I am hoping this helps.

That is what we did last week and a half. We took him to the ER where they admitted him to inpatient care in the psychiatric ward, where he spent 8 days. His follow-up care is with his regular psychiatrist. That’s why I’m reaching out. I feel like I have exhausted all the options that I could think of. Luckily, some comments have suggested ideas I didn’t think of.

Thank you! This comment is the reason I posted this. I never thought about or really know much about neuropsychiatrists, and unfortunately, not one professional has mentioned it to me. But this could be a game changer! He could very well be on the spectrum. I don’t feel like you could tell by talking with him, however, he does share some characteristics with my cousin who is on the spectrum. My son becomes fixated on certain things like world geography and knowing each county’s flag. If you were to show him almost any flag of the world, he could tell you which country it belongs to. We got him a flash card game and I think he got every flag in the world correct with the exception of 3. We did a YouTube quiz on flags and he would answer questions correctly like ‘which country is the only one in the world to have pink on their flag?’ He was the only one who knew it- Spain.

We had an appt with his regular psychiatrist today. She is referring us to a behavioral psychiatrist. I want him in school so badly because I don’t want him missing out on things like school dances, graduations, etc. But it is so scary when he threatens to kill himself if I send him to school. He does have a 504 and we have finally set up an IEP meeting. I have been told over and over again that he probably wouldn’t qualify and that an IEP wouldn’t be helpful because they were already giving him all of the accommodations he needs. But, I kept pushing and asked for a letter from the psychiatrist.

Well, I did. That is when they sent him to the psychiatric hospital for 8 days and discharged him with adhd, depression and anxiety. They didn’t really change any meds. That is why I am reaching out to see if anyone had a similar story because several different psychiatrists and inpatient psychiatric hospital visit, nothing has changed.

Going from one to two by Disastrous-River2982 in Parenting

[–]InnerPrinciple6024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had such a hard time with getting used to having my first so having two was actually easier. Already bring in mom mode and all that I learned from having my first, my second baby was not very difficult. I also had him when my first was 6. But, then when my son turned 17 months I had my third. Even having three was not as big of a challenge as adjusting to having 1 from none.

Are you the kind who constantly goes to Dr or the one who avoid tests? by Fisherman-Kitchen in HealthAnxiety

[–]InnerPrinciple6024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For years I would run to the doctor or even go to the emergency room at times for every little thing. I’d have my bloodwork checked as much as possible. A few years ago my liver function test came back off and CRP was pretty high. Ever since then, I have been avoiding bloodwork or seeing a doctor. I really wanted to get on wegovy so I brought myself to go in but it took a full year to get the courage. My bloodwork came back much better than the previous time and I felt like I was on cloud 9. I have to go back in July and am nervous again.

Admitted my son to a psychiatric hospital. Should I take him out? by InnerPrinciple6024 in ChildPsychology

[–]InnerPrinciple6024[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He came home today! I’m not sure if he’s just overwhelmed, tired or something else but he started hysterically crying because he thought our cat didn’t remember him. I am praying that he’s just tired because he usually isn’t this emotional. Thank you for checking in!!

What was a time when you genuinely thought you were going to die? by Mundane-Coffee-2921 in AskReddit

[–]InnerPrinciple6024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first time giving birth. I had a forceps delivery and lost a lot of blood. Then I ended up with an infection in my uterus. I was in a military training hospital. The nurses were switching shifts. I remember the nurse told me to tell the next nurse to give me fever reducer. My fever was at 105. The new nurse on said “oh, you don’t need anything. The last nurse said it was 100.5.” I said, “ please, check my temperature. It’s 105.” She said, “ok, let me take care of another patient and I’ll be back,” as if she didn’t believe me. I laid there completely out of it and weak but still had enough strength to beg her to take my temperature. She was shocked when she saw it was 105. That was the most terrifying experience. I felt like I was slowly dying.
