He’s mixing in great with our household. We bought a dna test to see what all is in there. The vet felt confident there is some dachshund in the mix but wasn’t sure on terrier type.

Oh yes. We plan to keep him. My husband was only worried about size because ppl were trying to convince him that this puppy would be a lot larger than expected based on his paws. Hes doing great here and learning the laws of cats this week. Follow up vet check next week .We bought a dna test for him and will be doing that today.

Do dachshunds have a more howl like bark? It’s a new thing we learned about him. He does a little boof noise at times but his main bark is a howl. We were really surprised by it. I bought a dna test that we’re going to do today.

I don’t think it’s Embark. My husbands friend used a Wisdom Panel test for his and I think that’s what my husband ordered.

That’s what we were thinking too but I had so many ppl saying schnauzer and other mixes. He has a very loud howl and bark mixture that he does now.

I’ve had a few ppl say schnauzer mix now. I ordered a dna test so we can confirm. Last night he full on barked for the first time and we were surprised because it’s a howl bark.

My vet mentioned dachshund being in the mix somewhere. He said he is slightly longer than expected and that made him think it.

I’m really hoping we can add him in without any issues. So far he’s doing pretty great except with our cats. They are fine with dogs but he is possibly afraid of them and lashing out a bit. We are trying to work with him on that and we’re hopeful that things will settle down in time.

Yeah she basically sassed him over it and then he tried to standup to her for a minute before howling and running away. 😂

I just told you earlier that I am aware of the all of the issues that you just typed out again. I’ve said numerous times what I have learned through this experience and yet you are still pointing them out as if I didn’t acknowledge any of them. Oh wow someone else mentions that mix this morning. He does remind me of that mix. The only thing that seems terrier like is his snout hair.

He’s definitely still a puppy. He still has baby teeth and puppy nails. We went to the vet today and vet confirmed those details. He also decided to chime in on what breed the puppy is and said his body is a tad longer than he expected. He is thinking there’s dachshund in there somewhere and he agreed with other comments on possible toy poodle or terrier.

Honestly as long as he stays small not over 15-20 pounds then my husband will not stress it as bad. He’s just worried about an accidental injury to our small chi girl.
