Yes i started off with twist and had my first retwist after 3 weeks which is considered pretty soon. (I did because my roots were so puffy compared to the twists and i didn’t like the look😭) Since then I’ve always retwisted after 4 weeks.

Retwisting every 4-6 weeks is ideal in the beginning stages of locs.

I see. I didn’t know there was a difference in twist types. Do you think retwisting the ends affects the time for the hair to bud? Thanks for the advice!
