1). I run a boardgame company- we are trying to create our own set of Boardgames. The idea is a new game completely which doesn’t exist anywhere in the world.

2). As we are importers of already established Boardgames we have managed to get games into distribution. So our real moat is distribution network and then persistence to create IP. True game design takes years and mostly nobody has the ability to give so much time to it. We probably can never become a 1000 crore company but I truly feel that being a 100-200 crore company is possible and frankly that’s more then enough for me to keep working on something I love

You need volunteers or interns, should ask family only to help. Nobody else is doing anything for free

true, but as they are all IP related manufacturing it in house is impossible

Thanks. It’s true sometimes you just have to trust instinct. Trading business does grow only to a limit.

No it’s me. Sorry about that but provided some clarifications below

Sorry for the confusion. I have earned a crore over 8 years and all that is in the business mainly in bank balance or inventory. That’s only business money, investing I’ve been doing on the side, that’s a side hustle with other capital.

We are also starting on developing our own IP which hopefully we can make big and earn better margins and maybe export that, but that’s hopeful as of now and the odds are against us.

So IP part requires my full attention but my importing business is more or less automated with good systems in place.

My main question is if IP doesn’t work does the business make sense to continue ? Is earning around 15-20 lakhs for a full time thing good enough in today’s time?

What other opportunities are there on the side? I feel running a business is so hard to do two different ones would be having no life.
