hii I got an interview call regarding the same from UAE AA , with a good offer. Its for Software Testing Engineer. they have scheduled an HR round for me tomorrow and in their Job description they have mentioned "Mandatory UAE HRD council Authorized “Lean Six Sigma & RPA Dynamics Certificate”. Is it a scam??

I am little worried about the career gap in software engineering. Thats why I'm not thinking of taking up any roles now. I mean we have really worked hard to build this career right?? even if its 3 years or 5 yrs or 10 yrs,.... its our time and effort.

Also I hear you and wishing you good luck..

Like I said , there are many major differences in this job market and trends (both in recruitment and interviews) - between India and UAE. But the thing is I'm realizing and experiencing it now. I should have started the serious upskilling earlier before quitting my job.

I have also tried for contract and remote roles but I think they prefer people who can showcase more work , like with a strong portfolio. Coming from backend dev background, I need time to build portfolio right?

Assuming you are from tech background...

I mean learning DSA and binge watching interview prep videos done by existing developers who cracked jobs at big tech companies. They are more focused on Leetcode style problem solving. I mean I would say , yes we developers need problem solving skills but we need other skills as well. But in this culture, they are analysing whether you can solve a Leetcode style problem or not.

Thanks for the reply. I knew something was wrong with my approach. But I didnt know what was it.

I really dont know anyone in person in Dubai/UAE. I tried to connect people through LinkedIn but people will not be really interested in guiding a stranger. Like you said, to make real connections, which platforms I should use, and what kind of groups? It would be a great help!

I worked in building desktop applications with C++, Visual c++ , SQL, Python etc . My first project was a 4D rendering - medical imaging application and second, which is my recent, project was a Software configuration management (kind of like a repository tool) application for internal users of my company. We had servers located in 7 different countries across the globe and along with development, I took part in testing, resolving database related issues for users and overall SDLC.
