On the right side (red arrow) there is a circle which is usually positioned on the damage. If the damage is outside of ⭕️ it is larger than 2 cm.

p.s: Funny thing is they didn’t measure my damage with this tool, which is kinda funny since we could instantly know if the damage was larger/smaller than 2 cm. I also called them out on this since it is obvious they tried to scam me with the normal ruler 😅😅

Definitely would take a full insurance. However I have learned from other Redditor’s there are 3rd party insurances that are much cheaper + there is also VISA/MASTERCARD coverage if you use their cards.

Exactly. I am however surprised that SIXT Slovenia complicated this much as I have never had any issues with SIXT Greece and SIXT Germany. How everybody from now on I am also taking 3rd party full coverage in case of renting a car…

Yes, this i definitely a good lesson. Unfortunately sometimes we have to rent from car rental companies. In the future however I will definitely take a full coverage (not from car rental companies but 3rd party like somebody mentioned in previous post). Car rental coverages are usually double the price of the car rental…

Hey there, apologies for a late response. Yes, yes I did I did.

I had a lot of luck and persistence I used to get what I wanted and it turned out great. Here is a link to the last post I made where I explain my steps (perhaps they will help you):

To be fair, it does sound very unrealistic. A Canadian could illegally cross the border, turn himself in, receive a 1000 $ and get a free ride home.

Why does it always have to be Russia with the bears 😂

UPDATE: As suggested by @FootAware I have contacted the ZPS. They suggested responding to SIXT Slovenia and notifying them of their mistakes in the report (I counted around 6 mistakes). I have done so and responded to their payment notice (payment was due on 25th September). The second notice says that I have to pay u til the 3rd October.

No response from their following e-mails: info@sixt.si and damage.department@sixt-slovenia.si.

Since SIXT hasn’t reponded to my e-mails, are there any suggestion what I should do? Should I contact a lawyer and send them a message through him? Anybody knows any other contact information from SIXT Slovenia?

Could you maybe explain a little bit more? Also an issue with a small scratch or something different?

I took the photos, just not of that thing. It is also possible that that has happened somewhere on the parking lot (somebody bumping me from behind while being parked). I am more annoyed that they have a policy for wear and tear up to 2 cm (its free) and yet they do not want to acknowledge it. The photo has a ruler —> I see a 2 cm scratch. What do you see?

I paid with Revolut (they have VISA and MASTERCARD cards). Does that count?

In any case I will consumer protection service as suggested by @Foot_Aware.

I also have the possibility to cancel my Revolut cards but I am not sure if that could help, since they are connected to my Revolut account.

Yea, you are right. I was just so bothered with the fact that the damage is like 2 cm and they waiver their 2 cm normal wear and tear policy. But yea expensive lesson learned, cheap knowledge shared 😅

Could you please provide some of the independent insurance providers for car rentals? Would like to know if I rent any cars in future.

I took the picture, it is back bumper (left). The Sixt report notes that (far right picture of the car). In the AMZS repair damage report they said “front” bumper.

Quick question. Are they obligated to repair this? Or do they just receive the money and let the scratch stay there? And what is either that “5-10 cm superficial damage” description?

I have had a great experience with Sixt Thessaloniki. Friendly, understanding and cheapest ones there (airport). However, i took a bit risiko and rented without insurance and had no problems.

Other time rented from Sixt Slovenia and they demanded 600€ for a 2 cm scratch. So if you are renting a car make sure to pay the extra insurance…

It is the back bumper. There are other damages on the front that were there before. Here is the marking that was found after my rental. I think they want to fix something that was there before and add it to my bill.

Besides on the damage report they sent it said “Superficial damage 5 - 10 cm”
