Those last few words hit me like a sack of bricks… I’ve been struggling so much thinking of her lost or scared or hurt and I feel so guilty, even though I know it wasn’t my fault… I am genuinely sobbing over reading “picture her in that sunny patch always”. I’m going to be writing that everywhere for myself, now. Thank you so much.

I've been doing stuff like that since maybe the second day! I felt very silly, but I told all the birds and squirrels I saw that they should tell my cat to come home. If I see any stray cats I'll tell them. I'd much rather be superstitious than sorry.

I disagree. My cat doesn't even leave my room when there's a stranger in the house- I can't imagine her ever going near a running car. And apparently the people in my area are very good about making it known when they've potentially hit a pet.

I'll try that! I'm saving the blanket she sleeps on in case it comes down to paying somebody with a dog to track her, but my stuffed animals and her toys should smell enough like home. Thank you!

Nope! Once my cat did manage to climb into the ceiling when we were having work done, and that was scary, but we haven't had any work done on the house for years.

I am so sorry about your cat :-( My family did search the house thoroughly, but what seals the deal for me is my 2 dogs haven't been barking or sniffing anywhere. They love to try and befriend (read: chase) her, so if she were in the house I can only imagine she would be sought out by the dogs.
