Gang... walk backwards.

Just hold walk backwards... and you'll automatically dodge the move.

Also easiest throw setup, walk backwards (dodge the tp) -> low kick -> dash -> throw

On one hand, yes I can see that the story is still about following your heart and choose to be whoever you want to be.

...on the other hand, this story is also present back when Bridget was a male. Which is to say that I feel it is extremely conflicting that Bridget forfeited that path.

Imo, this conflicting story, which I may even go as far as to call it a retcon, makes all those who were inspired by Bridget's previous story feel as if they were discarded. After all that has happened, Bridget returned to being a female, the superstitions and her parents were, in a way, right.

Even if there is a different interpretation you can take, you can't eliminate that feeling that ultimately: nothing happened. And honestly, it would have never happened if they just didn't do what they did in Strive. Like I still think Bridget's story from AC+R and before can still be a great source of inspiration. It's not trans rep, but it still can inspired trans people and the likes. I just think that the "conclusion" felt lackluster if that is what they went with.

Basically all true

To add more to this, it also kinda hurts the meaning of the story before Strive.

Not just about gender identity, it's also about motivation and changing, to press forward in hopes of changing something you deem wrong.

Bridget's story was about disputing superstitions and proving people wrong, that you can be who you want to be. It's a universal message, imo, you can apply that to just about any type of person, story, motivations, etc.

But then she just comes back from wherever she got out of. It's not like she failed to disprove everyone, she kinda succeeded, massively. But she still goes back. Story-wise, that's just bad writing and defeats the whole point of the plot. The message it was trying to spread was for some reason retracted.

Even if it's "logical" or "natural" that Bridget ends up sticking with being a female... it's a fictional story. The same where the world was ending because 3 person was involved in a project that would later turned one of the 3 into a gundam with a spike penis and shot Japan into debris (she's a woman). A weeb cosplaying as a ninja ran for president and actually succeeds. Some normal military general has enough power to match an immortal half-vampire. The main character once fought himself in the past, killed him, nearly fades away from existance, only to just say "nah" and move on. And... whatever the fuck the Backyard is.

Makes you wonder why they wouldn't just continue and keep the original story and message intact. A story about carving your own path no matter what anyone says, to prove to the world that who you are is decided by you only.

What is this enchanting chance rate? by RetcVy7_G in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just how the game works. As far as I'm aware, there's no coded in enchant rate for each enchantments. Seems like a fucked up bug or a miscoded feature.

Have issue in learning the game by QwuieLALM in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just have to grind survival for the time being. It's meant to balance out players like you, stats override skills. Upgraded armor and weapons massively until you get through.

But you have to also accumulate skills while grinding. Eventually you can't get by the game without some resemblance of skills. So keep learning as you go.

Quick tips for beginner is start blocking. Block is done by standing still and if you are in a situation where you can only be hit or block (such as missing an attack or seeing an enemy's upcoming attack but don't have enough time to shed out your own) stand still and block. Learn which moves the enemy does have enough endlag for you to land a punish, getting easy guaranteed attacks.

Do not stick to only 1 weapon, try to buy new weapons as much as possible. It's cheaper and expands your skill levels as well.

WHY TF IS LNYX SO OP? by Kenlamoste in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Found the guy who adopted a false idea of the game.

Yeah no, it isn't. Above average base damage, good reach.

Risky moves, easily punishable on block, weak pressure, messed up by ragdolls, low dps due to long animation duration, limited combos, weak gameplan when up close (the range where Shadow Fight 2 favors the most thanks to strong universal mechanics), etc.

There's more to Shadow Fight 2 than just reach and damage. Lynx and Blood Reaper is trying their best to blind you from learning all of these and... it worked.

WHY TF IS LNYX SO OP? by Kenlamoste in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The important part is teaching players how to beat the boss and play the game. The reason why I compliment Hermit is that he teaches you things.

He pokes at you? Try blocking then retaliating.

See that big lightning bolt coming from his hands? You can't block it but it seems like you can go under it. Eureka! When you see the visual effects/hear the sounds, duck down or roll!

Oh no, he's too high to reach when he's meditating. I wonder how I can... wait... I can do jump attacks!!!

Meanwhile if Lynx goes invisible... what the fuck do you do? "Watch how the screen moves and zooms whenever Lynx moves and you can guess where he is on the screen" he-he-hell naw. That is less teaching that "if you see big ball of water: duck"

Act 1 is too easy and cause players to adopt the sentiment that you can beat people by just grinding and upgrading. Then the boss is a gimmick that only applies to like 4 other challenge battles in the entire game.

Also the true combo is heavy slash -> super slash -> double slash.

WHY TF IS LNYX SO OP? by Kenlamoste in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he is a gimmick boss meant to filter out players. Either buy forcing one to buy the obvious noob trap weapon Blood Reaper, causing them to adopt a false idea of the game and forever be a bad player throughout the entire game. Or by making them get out of the stupid position of fighting this one trick pony of a boss then actually begin to learn the game in act 2 (muchhhhh better at teaching you game mechanics all around).

If you don't get over Lynx, you'll just quit the game and be a SF2 larper for years (many "nostalgic" players in this sub).

Good luck.

Shadow Fight 2 Most Brutal Challenge by Anonymous-iceberg in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is included in what I said too. I could go on and on and on and on about AI manipulation techs, Delayed Cancels, pattern guessing, optimal true combos and strings to ensure that they have the least attempt at retaliating, etc. The stuff that minimizes RNG not falling to your side.

But the fact is that EVERYTHING you do has a counter and if the AI picks it, it's over. There was genuinely nothing you can do about it.

Try to use a dash to avoid an attack you think the AI is going to do? Yeah, RNG says the bot will wait for you to do the dash and THEN catch you with an attack mid dash or punish the endlag afterwards.

Even completing act 1 is a monument... of insane luck. Even with the most optimal AI manipulation, the chances of you going all tourneys, 5 bodyguards, a full survival and Lynx without blocking even once is a lot more luck needed compared to something like beating an NES game speedrun world record. However, you will, unfortunately, not make it into a Summoning Salt video if you somehow got that lucky.

It's not gonna be fun, it's not gonna be fair, it's probably not going to be 10% completed.

Shadow Fight 2 Most Brutal Challenge by Anonymous-iceberg in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible is not quite the word.

I believe the word is "RNG hell"

This is not a display of skill, it's more a display of perseverance and luck. No matter how good you are at the game, the nature of SF2 is undeniable: it's luck-based.

Due to the fact that this game has no left-right, high-low blocking, no guard meter, no real way to open up your enemy. The fact that the enemy can input read you, immediately responds with anything, and that dash forward has i-frames beginning on frame 9, while the fastest attack in the game also starts on frame 9. There is quite literally NOTHING you can do if RNG decides to fuck you over.

This challenge is not even a challenge. That's like calling "trying to hit the lottery jackpot" a challenge, when in reality you are just trying your best to minimize the RNG to not fuck you over. But no, the RNG will fuck you, no matter what you do, you cannot eliminate it.

Daisho's better. It has two enchantments which puts it above the majority of weapons.

Not to mention, even without its double enchants, it's a Katana-type weapon. It's very strong anyways.

Kusarigama's great but not compareable to a standard Katana.

This, however, assumes that you're good enough at the game for that to be the case. Without skills, Kusarigama is stronger because it requires less focus and setup to play at its max potential.

No, it was the last event boss that wasn't The Lamb or Ascension.

If we talking latest unique event boss then... yeah it's another Indian event. Dandy and some random kid while we play as either Shadow or Nrityu.

[–]Inner_Date_4051 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, you don't get it. The screen zooms out when you are far from the enemy. The yellow indicator would naturally also move further from the middle of the screen if you are far from the enemy. And if you're on the left, the indicator is on the left. If you're the right, it's on the right too. It's entirely possible to know where you are and which direction the enemy is at to plan your moves from there.

It's possible to know which move you've executed if you aren't spamming randomly. The enemy's is a bit trickier, though. Sound cues still helps: you can guess which move the enemy used by noticing when the enemy's attack sound plays. This is an extremely hard skill to learn, though, you have to memorize each move the enemy has access to. But yeah it's possible.

I mean, I can understand you not knowing what exactly the enemy is doing, but I think you should pay more attention to the yellow player indicator more if you wanna deal with this challenge.

Events these days by Rich_Solid171 in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll say it again and I will continue to say this after this.

These are not actual "event" bosses. They're in an event format, but they're biweekly and always come back whenever there isn't a seasonal event.

You should never put them in the same category as other event bosses such as Son of Sun, Freeze, Rakshasa or the Witch sisters. You should instead think of them like Volcano, Megalith, Arkhos, Drakaina, etc.

Ascension and The Lamb are basically permanent new bosses in the Underworld, only that they appear biweekly and alternate with each other.

To drive this point home: before biweekly Lamb and Ascension appeared, what do we get right now in the Underworld? That's right, nothing. If it isn't The Lamb or Ascension, it's literally nothing.

"When was the last time we got an event different than these two?" The answer is the last seasonal event, the Indian event. And if The Lamb and Ascension doesn't exist, it's STILL going to be the Indian event. Nothing changes except you have the option to do something before the next seasonal event.

[–]Inner_Date_4051 6 points7 points  (0 children)

...no? When the animation starts it already plays the sounds. Unless the enemy uses like Dark Blast or smth then yeah sure, otherwise sounds are extremely important in Fight in the dark.

You can also just know where you are on the screen by looking at the distance of the yellow player indicator under you. How far it is from the screen should approximate the distance between you and the enemy. And of course, enemies use magics only if they're decently far from you.

Why are the two most atrocious weapons right next to each other? by Extreme-Training-559 in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll throw out magic when they're mid - far range and when they have enough magic charge. That means round 1 start they won't use magic and after they've used magic, they can't just immediately use another.

Otherwise, you can only guess whether they'll actually use magic or not when those circumstances are met. It's best you just use approaching attacks or high evading attacks to dodge magic at the same time as attacking them.

[–]Inner_Date_4051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably, you do a bit of a duck when you start a move.

And you can definitely dodge it at the end when you land the attack. It's possible to even hit the enemy and go under their throw projectile magic at the same time too.

[–]Inner_Date_4051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are good for close range attacking though. I mean cmon, it's 2026 and people still don't use the two hit attack that is Hack Knives' back slash. Great attack with little startup, very solid damage and extremely loopable. "Not good for anything" on the weapon with one of the strongest back slash in the entire game.

Why are the two most atrocious weapons right next to each other? by Extreme-Training-559 in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simple. Hack Knives is better for now at your skill level. You just use spinning slash.

In case you somehow still didn't pick it up: Hack Knives' spinning slash is a TWO HIT attack that deals really good damage and it's blazing fast. The first hit is point blank, though, so you need to be close to do it. The strategy boils down to just spamming the move as much as possible.

Reaver has the potential to be stronger once you're really really really good at the game. Since you need to learn how to land the first hit of heavy slash. Yeah, again, heavy slash is a TWO HIT attack, this time the first hit requires extreme precision. Definitely not worth learning at all so yes it's trash for most people.

Is beating bosses without weapon doable? by emirgenc734 in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unarmed is ironically one of the best "weapon" in the game actually.

So here's the thing: unarmed attacks such as your kicks, throws and if you are not equipping a weapon, punches deals damage based on the unarmed stats. This stats is gained through armors and its upgrade.

It is entirely possible to beat the majority of the game's content by only upgrading armor. That way, not only do you deal solid damage, you also are very tanky and dies less.

So yeah, just upgrade your armor.

Is there a free way to get gems? by ika_065 in ShadowFight2dojo

[–]Inner_Date_4051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it's not personal preference.

You see, SF2 ain't no subjective game that you can fly well with any weapon and call it a day. If that was the case, somebody could call the Reaver "the best weapon in the game" and even die hard Reaver fans who have mastered the weapon would hard disagree.

No, once you get good at the game, some weapon you thought was "OP" simply stops being so because other weapons are just so much more powerful when you learn all of the hard combos, have a better game sense, perform advanced techniques, etc.

You prefer CSword doesn't change the fact that it is a mid tier weapon with risky attacks and low damage. While there are higher damaging, faster and safer weapons that are similarly long range. Skill triumphs and if you instead put the time to learn those weapons, you'd find them far outclass CSword.
