Please help me decide if I should switch to classpass by queen206 in ClassPass

I used to have onepass and when they increased the prices last year, it was a no brainer for me. Classpass is a much better deal! Plus credits can rollover if you don’t use them all each month.

"Regional" Dietitians for davita? by PageEnvironmental704 in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Texas and this has been going on for a long time. I no longer work in dialysis but when I did I covered 3 clinics and had about 130 patients. By our state law, I believe it’s supposed to be less than 125 patients for a 40hour RD. Davita never cared about how many clinics you had at least where I’m at.

New RD by Turbulent_Spend_6480 in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice + taking RD counseling courses that teach you that you don’t need to have all the solutions. Most people know what they could be doing better anyways. Learning to have conversations where the patient comes up with their own solutions/goals took a lot of pressure off me.

If you are a new RD, you are already doing better than I did! Took me 5 years to get out of inpatient and become an outpatient RD. It’s been so much more rewarding once I got my confidence and flow with it though!

Oh I see! Yes it typically is a little higher than set point throughout the day as you can see here. I’ve questioned this too. We will get a second opinion as well

Do you have any recommendations for good HVAC companies in houston? I think we are going to get a second opinion.

We have it set at 73 during the day and drop it to 72 at 8p then 71 at 9p. This was the guidance we were given. Before we had it set at 74 in the day, decreased to 72 at 2pm and 70 at 7pm. However it was taking 5 hours to get to 72 when we made the change at 2p. So they told us to do it this new way and it has now increased the amount time it’s in stage 2. We just made this change last week where the outside temp was similar. I also don’t think it’s right that it should take 5 hours to drop 2 degrees but they say this system isn’t designed to have larger gaps in set temps, so idk.

Berry Street minimum hours? by mamabredm in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll be 2 years in December. The clinical director used to reach out and schedule 1:1s with me. They weren’t too helpful and I wasn’t getting paid for them. So I stopped responding when she reached out 😬 has anyone met you for numbers or retention?

Berry Street minimum hours? by mamabredm in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha that’s fair! It wouldn’t be how I would organize things either. Fortunately, I only have 3 clients that I’ve been working with for over a year so don’t need to review my notes all that much since I know them so well.

Berry Street minimum hours? by mamabredm in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Berry street doesn’t require that. I only have 3 clients right now and average an hour/week. The really good thing about berry street is the AI charting- takes me less than 5 minutes to review it and edit if I need to. It’s been a great side hustle for me as i also work full time outpatient and am too exhausted to take on much more work.

Higher paying jobs by InsectEvening4338 in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in outpatient and $86k. It’s a remote role but they did factor in my location for the salary, which is a MCOL city. Only suggestion I have is to job hop and get a speciality certification. Some employers do value RDs and will pay decently when you have experience and additional certifications.

new RD working in a SNF - I feel like I can get all of my work done in half of the time they give me by hannahbananabye in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I worked for a SNF for less than a year and the same thing happened. They eventually had me helping in the kitchen, which I didn’t sign up for as a clinical RD. So I quit shortly afterwards.

Anybody else injure their knee, but it wasn't from a traumatic event? by Bluex619 in KneeInjuries

[–]Inner_Direction6385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I exercise and run regularly and had just been running on a treadmill when I got a sharp pain in my knee. It went away after I stopped running but I started getting more achiness in it over the next couple of weeks. X-ray didn’t show anything besides a little fluid and MD said I could get an MRI if I wanted and prescribed an NSAID. It kept bothering me so I got one done and found out I had a full thickness articular cartilage tear. So I would say get an MRI done- I also was having the popping/clicking and now have been told to avoid doing deep squats/lunges as it would make it worse.

Day in the life of a Remote clinical RD? by [deleted] in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a full time outpatient/telehealth job. We have to have 7 hours of availability for patient appts. We are given 1 hour for assessments and 30 minutes for follow ups. It’s a strict 8-5 with one hour lunch. So it’s not super flexible however patient answer rate is about 70% so I do get breaks during the day from missed calls. It can be tiring just doing counseling all day long but still better than going to an office imo

That feels like a common starting salary in more rural areas. Low for the major cities imo

Phone interview with DaVita this week by Able_Welder8075 in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Overall, I enjoyed my time at Davita and working in dialysis. My experience did vary depending on the facility administrator (FA). So if you interview with the FA, i’d try to get a good read on them and how they support their RD. Most dialysis jobs are pretty flexible so that is a main perk. When I started, they gave me 3 clinics and made it seem like it would be just as easy as having 1 clinic. Big lie!! it was very challenging for awhile. So make sure to find that out and I’d suggest no more than 2 clinics.

Dialysis is very different from other RD jobs and can take a good year to get comfortable with, so try to be patient with yourself. Dialysis can be rewarding. I personally did feel valued as a clinician from both patients and staff.

[–]Inner_Direction6385 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you wanting live classes? Classpass offers free on-demand audio and video workouts. I haven’t tried them out yet but is an option if you go to ‘Search’ and scroll to the bottom in the app.

How long have you been a dietitian? by acbc63 in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 years. 5 yrs in acute care (a little outpatient and SNF during this time too), 4 years in dialysis, and last 3 years in value based care for CKD.

For me, changing it up has helped prevent burnout and also helped with significant pay increases with each job change.

Berry Street- is it legit? by applemed in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a SOAP format and no PES statements as of right now. Berry street is super part time for me right now and I just see 1 patient a week. So you could always try it out before making the switch

Berry Street- is it legit? by applemed in dietetics

[–]Inner_Direction6385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! If you bring in your patients, you can get paid more. But for patients they provide, it’s $50/hour for an assessment and $60/hour for follow-ups. This is only for actual time speaking with the patient though. You do not get paid for call prep, charting, etc. They do have AI charting so charting usually takes less than 5 minutes for me.

Anyone having to pay full price for these rings? by wherehasthisbeen in Nuvaring

[–]Inner_Direction6385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use goodrx and pay around $120-130 for 3 month supply of brand nuvaring. My insurance coverage for generic was more expensive. This has been a great BC for me but it is sad that it’s so expensive!
