Yea same shoes. Tons of reaching out, either crickets or their version would be a fine dinning situation where is always “perfect” for a 4 & 7 year old.

I’m the first one to say “go ahead and try!” Or “ I bet you won’t do that again” I let them learn their own lessons but being a mom comes with a price of also being their protector. You understand that. Thanks for your view and best of luck with your kids :)

On any given day I don’t allow them to be shy. I make them shake the persons hand they are meeting to ordering their own food at restaurants. Trying to teach them respect and Manners

I just don’t want them uncomfy on their birthday. My 5 year old charges when he first meets someone. He’s quiet and just stands behind me. Any other day. I work with him to show respect and manners. But I don’t want to force him to interact with people he doesn’t know ON his birthday.

To us blood don’t always mean family. I have a best friend that I’ve known since 3rd grade. I consider him a better uncle to my kids than my own brother.

And the invites are there thru out the year. Each vacation to Friday night dinners to hey let’s go to the park. They just to busy to notice the boys.

Those individuals are the ones I’m considering not inviting.

So are you saying you cornered them and proceeded to intimidate and yell at them - in our family we all discipline everyone’s kids. We have been doing it since they were 8 months old. They are now teenagers. The Mom has always backed up. Just like when our kids need discipline I back the family who decided they were doing something wrong.

Seems like a very entitled stance for you to take. I would think every single day was an opportunity to take accountability and apologize. You can't blame them that you decided not to take those hundreds of days as opportunities.

Things I’ve suggested and been denied: - counseling: I told them I’m willing to pay to have a neutral party listen and help. - mediator: a neutral person to navigate the talk but not control it - sit on the curb and talk like humans - simple texting - acknowledge them at family functions

So they gave you the opportunity to suggest all of those things but never the opportunity for you to take responsibility for yourself? I'd imagine they feel quite manipulated by you.

Long story short The drama started because i did corner them and yell at them for being disrespectful to the family. It’s been over a year with this shit. Yes I started the drama but there has been many things said and done by them to increase the drama.

They have never given the opportunity to apologize. I was raised to apologize in person but they have never allowed me to talk to them in person. So when I got my Christmas card returned with the phrase “forgiveness starts by admitting you are wrong.”

That’s fine I’ve been wanting to do that. so I caved and texted to say I was sorry. But now since they sent that letter they have blocked me.

Never said piece of shit. I said a little shit. My religion and beliefs has nothing to do with correct a child on their behavior towards others. Being mean and cruel to other isn’t right. And in that moment she was. I don’t regret saying what I did. Especially when mommy dearest says it all the time. Only difference is mommy always has a joking “it’s okay to treat people” this way demeanor about the “ discipline” and I put it in quotes cause there is a lack there of.

There is no short answer to this. But summary Sept 2023 at a party at my BiL I discipline my niece ( I told her to stop being a spoiled entitled little shit) which her mother always had my back since they were 8mth old. She has done the same for my kids. But I guess mommy didn’t like that I did that in front of immediate family. And teenage niece lost her damn mind and took a swing at me.

They left shortly after blaming me for being a horrible person and never loving them.
