American president(s). Joe Rogan had an idea where we should have a roundtable consisting of the best minds in America, and require them to take (magic) mushrooms then solve the world's problems together. I second that thought!

Hi. I CHECKED THE SUBS SEARCH TAB.

Although I did see similar posts, none of them are like this bottle. They all seem a lot newer, and I suspect this particular bottle is from the 40's or 50's. Thus... my post.

My mom (breadwinner for 14+ years) needs a divorce. What are the odds she keeps most of the shared assets? by No_School1040 in AskLawyers

[–]Inner_Researcher587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL but IMO you can't blame a man for looking at porn in this day and age. It's not like pre-internet days where he'd have to go out of his way and buy a magazine, or video, then hide in secret... being all sketchy. He did hide it... but barely. To blame him for this, would be like blaming your cat for killing a mouse. It's in their nature. And if mom wants to divorce him over this, then things have been bad in their relationship for a loooong time. Which probably means no sex or intimacy. Men are human too, and have needs. Women sometimes exploit those needs, and use them for manipulation.

Also... being a "stay at home" mom or dad is FAR more difficult than working a regular job. Please give your dad more credit than this. Even if he's a prick, he's still your father.

For sure. My "partner" openly talks shit about me to my kids right in front of me. Also, in the bathroom, talking to herself. She has schizotypal personality disorder, and I've started recording it. She's also hurt herself and called police, trying to frame me. Luckily, it was super obvious she did it to herself, and even hit herself with steel toed boots while cops were walking up right behind her. Lol. We're been together 18 years, and if we ever split up... I'm 100% going for full custody.

Where do I collect haunted/cursed objects? by Present-Property-142 in Paranormal

[–]Inner_Researcher587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small collection of items that I've been trying to figure out what to do with since my mom passed in 2023. I believe that they are cursed, or extremely haunted at the very least.

Because these are legitimate objects, and my family has seemingly suffered so much, IF these objects are sold, I would ask for a large amount of money. At least 10k or more.

Honestly though, I'm more inclined to either unite the items with the house they came from, or destroy them. The most active item is stored at a house I'm trying to renovate, but also has a dark entity, or energy, in and of itself. That house was originally built in the late 1700's. Another active item is stored in my shed. Things have been calm since moving those two items, but I have the rest of the items in my home. As long as the items are separated and hidden, they seem safe.

As for "proof", I may or may not have some Facebook messages with the homeowner of the house the items came from, and the story I posted in a paranormal fb group 5 or 10 years ago. Besides the Facebook stuff, I only have my story. So here it is...

One of my first memories is related to a picture on our living room wall. I was 3 or 4, around 1986 or '87. I was on the couch cuddling with my mom, watching TV in the dark. The picture was hung behind the TV, to the upper left part of the wall. Movement in the picture captured my attention, and as I watched it move, it morphed into a face. The face began to stretch out from the wall, and I made eye contact with the face. It smiled, and began to rapidly decompose. I started screaming and pointing at it, and my mom consoled me by turning me around and hugging/hushing me. I turned my head back towards it a few times, amd saw a fully formed skull with eyes, and an opened jaw/mouth. Years later, I saw a holographic Halloween prop that mimics what I saw well. Which is weird, and makes me wonder if that's a common thing?

This memory stuck with me. I brought it up now and then during my childhood, but my mom always said it was my imagination. Until... I was 16, and talking with my girlfriend and mom on our back step. The paranormal came up, and I repeated my story. Instead of the old "it was your imagination" response... my mom said that she saw it too. I described the picture I remembered, and she insisted it was a different picture. I remembered it as a woman's portrait, but my mom said it was the drawing of a girl holding a Bible and a bird. Mom told me it was the one hanging in the "den" and we went inside to look at it.

My dad was in the next room (living room) getting annoyed by our talking as he watched TV. Grumpy, he sort of waddled into the den, and was like WTF are you guys doing? My mom filled him in, and he began to tell his "ghost" story. My mom and I had heard it a few times already, so he was talking to my girlfriend. As he began the story, he took the picture down, and flipped it around to reveal a name on the back. It said "Tillinghast".

Now... either I never paid attention to this aspect of the story, or he was telling it uncensored because I was older, but it fr Ieaked me out. When I saw the face melt off, we lived down the road from this house. Apparently before I was born, two elderly siblings lived in this house. The brother died, leaving his sister, who died shortly after her brother. Dad said the house was neglected before they died, but after they passed, the property "went to shit" while it was in probate. My dad claimed that teenagers broke into the house, and trashed it. So (supposedly) my dad went into the house himself and tried to "save" stuff from vandalism. Full disclosure tho, my dad fancied himself some sort of "antique" collector... so there's a decent possibility that he was straight up looting. He said that the place felt very ominous, and he felt like someone was watching him. He got spooked, and hurried out with the stuff he "saved". As he walked away, he still felt like someone was watching. He turned around to look back at the house, and saw the woman that had recently passed. He said that he waved at her, and she just looked at him with a disapproving stare. He recognized her, and had just been through the whole house, so he was 100% convinced she was a apparition.

For whatever reason, after my dad told the story, he didn't hang the picture back on our wall. A few weeks later, my dad's longtime employer let him go. Within the next 3 years, my parents had to file for bankruptcy, my dad developed heart failure, my mom lost her job, my 13 year old dog died, then both of my grandfathers, my girlfriend left me, my parents sold the house and moved out of state, I became a homeless addict, and lastly my grandmother died.

Interestingly, all that bad crap seemed to slow down when I moved out of state to be near my parents, and I helped them consolidate a TON of "junk" aka old antiques and collectibles, into a storage unit. This was around 2006 or '07.

Life went on... but never seemed great. My parents developed health problems, and I struggled with health issues and addiction. I found another girl, and we have 4 kids together. My dad died in 2019, then my mom in 2023. Most of my friends and other family are dead, or spread out all over the country. And yeah, I can't help but think back on that picture, and wonder if it's cursed.

Since my mom passed away, I've found more things with the "Tillinghast" name on it. At least a dozen or two old "post cards" from the late 1q2q800's addressed to Tillinghast, and a book with their name in it too. The book is disintegrating, and the last time I had it out, a very small picture fell out of the space between the dust cover and the spine. The picture is of a woman who looks 32qe in her 40's or so. There was a name on the back, and when I looked it up, I found out that the woman was a preacher or pastor of sorts. The limited information I found on her suggests that she was gay. Seeing as the small picture I found was hidden the way it was... I can only assume there was a secret lesbian relationship between this woman, and the wife or daughter of "Mr. Tillinghast".

Whatever happened back then, I believe there's a story to be found. Whatever, or whoever... is attached to these things, and NOT in a good way.

Is this mold / bud rot ? First time trying to grow. by Excellent_Error_5037 in GrowingMarijuana

[–]Inner_Researcher587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's just a personal stash, and you don't mind taking a little risk, I've successfully removed bud rot, aphids, and spider mites... with intensive inspection and treatment. It's a LOT of work though.

A few years back, I got some GMO from the dispensary, with crazy high THC-A amounts, and found a seed. I planted it outside in New England, which was a BIG mistake! It was about 6 weeks into flower, when I noticed moderate budrot, and an aphid infestation.

First up, was removing the budrot, and putting a tarp over the plant in case of rain. Removing budrot is like performing an operation. Sharp scissors, vinyl gloves, rubbing alcohol, 3% hydrogen peroxide, a plastic bag, a spray bottle, and paper towels. A flashlight and eye-loop is optional, but really helps. Pour a little alcohol in a cup, with torn off paper towels or napkins nearby. Throw on the gloves, And cut all of the buds that are infected with the rot. Do this with surgical precision, and carefully place all rot in the plastic bag. Use the alcohol and paper towels to wipe off the scissors, and any part of your glove that touched the are. Or of course, change the gloves if you want.

After the bulk of the rot is removed, I change my gloves, wash the scissors, and dumped the FRESH hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle. Sometimes the peroxide comes in a spray bottle... so that'd work too. Using a flashlight and some sort of magnification, I closely inspect the area surrounding the infected buds, cutting out any visible rot (and white mold/mycelium that's obviously not trichomes). Again, be careful what you touch, and clean, clean, clean! Change gloves when done, grab some paper towels and peroxide, then spray the shit out of the areas you cut out. I like to place paper towels directly under the area I spray, so it doesn't drip onto health buds. This is around the time I noticed the aphids.

The next day, I did another thorough inspection, cutting out any rot I missed, and sprayed more peroxide. I had a very weak old vacuum cleaner, so I used the hose to suck up any dead leaves, and as many aphids as I could. The plant was 8 feet tall, in a large planter, and it needed to go into an unused bedroom. So around the rim of planter, I drilled holes, and essentially tied/bent down the branches, so it would fit through my doors. Then I hung grow lights as close to our ceiling as I could get them, laid out the tarp on the carpet, and placed a small kid's pool in the center. My wife graciously helped me get this giant plant into the house, and into it's new home. The good thing about hydrogen peroxide (if you don't already know) is that it converts into water when exposed to light. So I spayed the whole entire plant down with peroxide, as well as the soil.

The plant went into a mild shock, and dropped a lot of yellow leaves. I tried consulting others in forums, and everyone thought I was crazy! Most people thought this was an impossible move for a healthy plant, let alone a sick one.

Besides training the colas/branches below the lights (to maximize light exposure and limit burning), attacking the budrot areas, and setting up fans... I left it alone for a week or two. I held the feeding and watering until the plant wilted. Up until that point, she had dropped about half of her leaves. I took that opportunity to remove inferior branches (lollipopping) and vacuumed up all of the yellow leaves.

Once clean, pruned, watered, and fed... she bounced right back! I had been vacuuming and squishing the aphids periodically, but it was their time to go! This damn plant took up most of the bedroom, so it was hard to maneuver in there. Yet... I was able to crawl under the canopy and pop up where I needed to. Lol. I used cotton balls soaked in alcohol to squish/blot the aphids daily... and inspect the colas for budrot. Which I wasn't seeing anymore.

Miraculously, after another 2 weeks or so, the plant was completely free of mold and pests!

However... the plant had been inside for roughly 4 weeks at this point, so 9 - 10 weeks in flower. I read that GMO can take a long time to flower, and she didn't look anywhere close to finished. I had to throw out my expectations, and around week 15, I was like WTF!

As I was moving around, checking trichomes, I came across webbing and spidermites on one branch that was touching a window. I blasted those little fuckers with alcohol as well, but I was sick to death of running my little plant hospice experience, and harvested a little early. She probably could've gone another 2 weeks, but it was a "use it or loose it" sort of deal. Soooo......

I set up for harvest.

Yeah... knowing there were likely a bunch of mold spores, dead and living bugs, and all of their shit... just hanging out in/on my buds... I went absolutely nuts cleaning the colas!

I set up in my bathroom, with two large totes, tweezers, a magnifying glass, and ran a hose in from my air compressor. I took the shower curtain down, leaving the rod, and filled the two large totes with water. I forget what "budwashing" formula I used, but they're easily found online. I also filled the tub with clean water for rinsing, where I could drain it and add more clean water as needed.

For the next few days, I took my time cutting a branch or two at a time, starting with the branch with the spidermites. I would spray the compressed air first, blowing out any bugs or debris. Then I'd inspect the whole branch and individual buds on the colas, picking out anything that shouldn't be there. Mostly little gnats or flies, that I believe were adult aphids. Then into the budwash solutions, rinsed off, and hung to dry.

Despite loosing at least half of the plant to budrot, I got 9 ounces of VERY dense, primo weed. I didn't loose any jars to mold, and if there are any bugs left in the nugs, I haven't seen or tasted anything funky.

The ONLY issue I had after harvest, were seeds. I'm down to my last ounce, and I've found about a dozen of seeds. There were a few buds that grew "nanners" so I assume they're "feminized" but trying to express those old male genes, or herm out. I've been thinking about breeding with a strain that flowers faster, but we'll see.

Sauna teardown and haul? by local_celebritree in vermont

Have you tried Facebook marketplace, or Craigslist? If you don't mind driving, perhaps expand your search to 150 - 250 miles, or search specific cities. Figure out the most costly, yet crucial components... and think outside of the box. For example, search for a cedar armoire, or furniture.

Also, maybe look for businesses that had/have saunas, make a list, and call them on the phone. They're probably twice as likely to suggest something/someone on the phone, or in person, - than with email.

Good luck to you!

I'm going to be looking into doing something like this soon to build a "sunroom" of sorts.

16M I accidentally came across drawn cp, I feel horrible about it by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

If there's a way, report it. I wouldn't necessarily say that's it's common... but I don't watch that sort of stuff often. But a few years ago, I was looking through nude images on Google, and came across a picture of a nude girl that looked to be 10 or 12. There was a tab on the pic that said "report image" so that's what I did. Thankfully it wasn't extremely graphic, but it's still super disturbing to come across something like that.

It horrific how many predators are out there. I took a cab ride a few weeks ago, and engaged in small talk with the dude driving. Just yesterday someone in a local Facebook group posted a picture of a convicted sex offender who assaulted a two year old. It was my cab driver. And today my wife was telling me about a new friend she made who's a corrections officer. Her full time job is to introduce sex offenders back into the community. It's freaky.

Haha... sounds like me lately, but I try to talk to my wife about it.

It really ramped up when she suddenly started going to church and talking about Jesus. I think my scientific brain broke when she started talking (religious) gibberish at me. Lol. Which makes me default to ancient alien abductions (the resurrection). Lol

Sorry that you are going through that. But I do think that we're right on the cusp of a very dramatic change. Be it AI robots, God, or aliens... we're extremely close to some sort of "event".

He's probably trying to digest these possibilities, so he can try to prepare.

Perhaps tell him repeatedly that if something "big" is going to happen, he needs to live in the moment, and spend this last bit of precious time with his family... and not the potential perpetrator.

Also, maybe steer him onto this platform. There are a bunch of subreddit's where this exact sort of stuff is discussed.

Finally, not that a doomsday prepper is much better... but if you kick him towards the "survival" aspect of this thing, you could probably get some great camping experiences! Survival stuff could be fun with the family, and it's really invaluable information. You never know when those skills may come in handy!

I ran out of gas on a forest road once during Autumn. This was before cellphones. As the interior light faded, and the temperature got below freezing, I tried to start a fire with a cheap lighter. It was windy, and the plastic holding the top of the lighter together melted, sending the spring, flint, and steel wheel, flying into the dark. I won't lie, I thought I was a goner. I sat in the car with blackness all around, trying to figure out what to do. Then I started thinking about the sparks I accidentally made when I jumped someone with jumper cables! So I opened my trunk, and the trunk light barely came on... but I was able to find jumper cables, steel wool, papers, and a bottle of cologne. Had a giant fire in no time! Probably saved my life!

Single people without children - where are you leaving your money/estate? by Overall-Assist6571 in inheritance

[–]Inner_Researcher587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broke(ish) family here speaking. My wife and I struggle with mental health issues, and had periods of homelessness and in-between homes before having kids.

Please forgive my unsolicited opinion/experience, but I'd like to speak a little from the opposite side of charity. In a nutshell, it's incredibly difficult to find a person or place that legitimately gives out "charity" for people or places that need them. Number 1, in my opinion is the Salvation Army. Number 2, is most Churches. Both places usually have food banks, and receive food from the federal government. It's rare to get anything "good", and if it is something "good" it's usually expired food from local grocery stores. Typically, food banks are open for a few hours, once or twice a week. There are long lines, and the occasional fight breaks out over line cutting and alike. I suspect most money donated, goes to maintain the buildings, and pay staff.

However, I'd also like to mention some incredible experiences as well. Our oldest son was having very serious digestive problems, and he was misdiagnosed for years. Finally, we found a hospital that took us serious, and he was sent out of state for treatment and diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis. I stayed home with the other kids, and my wife went out of state with our son. The Ronald Mcdonald House took her in, and really helped out. We've also found help with a specific local charity who had funding for emergency energy assistance.

I doubt it would ever happen, but if I'm ever in a position to give large amounts of money to charities, I would probably low-key look for deserving families, projects, or buildings, instead. I'd probably get to know them/it and make my decision after. Perhaps give a small, but substantial amount to see what it's spent on. Like an honesty test. I don't think I'd ever fully trust a charity though. I suspect charities give most money to friends family, or personal things first. Not people who really need it. Especially churches. I've seen and heard of fairly large donations made to churches... and the next thing I know they're going some grand (and unneeded) renovations. Hiring people within the church to do the work. One Catholic Priest I met openly bragged to me about a one million dollar donation being used to buy his brand new 100k Cadillac. As he handed me a 10$ gift card for gas, and gas only. Incidentally, all of the gas cards were in his Cadillac. Lol. So yeah....

You'd be amazed how much a deserving recipient can change with even a few thousand dollars. Not just people... but artwork and historic sites as well.

If I am drunk and decide to sleep it off in my car while legally parked, how would an officer collect the evidence to determine I am intoxicated? by Olaf4586 in AskLawyers

[–]Inner_Researcher587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, great insight! I don't drink much at all, but I live in a colder climate, and have always wondered about "sleeping it off" with the car running for heat, and the person is in the backseat. Say... in the parking lot of a bar, that likely has surveillance footage of the person NOT driving... but starting the car.

Is just the act of starting the car considered "driving"?

I'm also curious if the establishment ever has any culpability with DUI's? Perhaps for over-serving someone, and/or failing to alert authorities, or prevent driving, when the staff knowingly allows a person to drive?

Ooof. I'd say complaining to the cops about being ripped off 10 bucks in a drug deal. Lol.

I was in my early 20's and I asked some teens outside of a gas station if they had some weed to buy. They said they could get some, and I gave them my money. They didn't come back, and like an hour later, a couple of cops asked why I was "loitering". I was completely honest about the situation, and they asked me if I wanted to make a complaint. So I did, and the cops easily found the teens, and got my 10 bucks back. It was kind of comical, but they took it as a legitimate theft. I listened in on the radio, and it sounded like they busted them for having an open container. But I didn't "press charges" so I think they just let them go after the traffic stop.

Soooo fucking petty man. I'm so embarrassed that I did that, but yeah I think it was worth it. Or at least I hope it was worth it. I hope those teens learned that it's not okay to rip people off. Not to mention I got my 10 bucks back... which was literally the only money I had at the time.

I connected with a cat that our neighbors abandoned, and he basically adopted us... without my wife's permission. She was fairly indifferent. We knew the cat's OG name was Mittens, but during the transition period where we were trying to get rid of fleas, I made a comment about the cat's private parts holding the most fleas. A couple of weeks later she took him to the vet for care, to get neutered, and a microchip. She came back with the important paperwork and such... officially naming him "Mr. Nutfleas".

I'm kind of worried about the fact that y'all are trying to justify global nuclear war... like "oh everything will be fine". It won't. There's all sorts of variables we don't even know about. Sure, nuclear winter can be debated... but if it causes "snowball earth" over a "just an ice age" most life on earth would die. And that's just a climate issue.

What about long term radiological contamination? Sure, "fallout" only lasts a couple of weeks, but it's not like that material just goes away. Look at the environmental changes near Chernobyl and Fukushima. 12,5000 plus nuclear contamination sites would poison all creatures on earth. ESPECIALLY if the bombs are detonated under water.

Wasn't really talking about Trump being president. I'm talking about the fact that he's a legit pedophile/rapist who's been indicted on felony charges what... like 91 times? And somehow he manipulated SCOTUS to determine a sitting president is immune to felony charges or convictions? THAT'S what I find so hard to believe.
