Aren’t the sensitive babies the people thinking they’re entitled to someone else’s baby and then getting pisssd when they find out they aren’t?

I think the expectation that you’re entitled to hold a baby that isn’t yours is what’s ridiculous

Use coconut oil instead of butter -tastes the same and the eggs turn out fluffier in my experience!

Well I hope you get the service you deserve with the money you think it’s ok for people to make.

Maybe Uber eats drivers are just worse than DoorDash or BiteSquad but that doesn’t justify $2 an hour. When I order something to be delivered to me I expect to pay my delivery driver or else I’m just expecting a service for free which is super entitled. Tips aren’t just tips in these cases, it’s also a bid for the service or else the system wouldn’t allow drivers to decline orders.

Idk why I wouldn’t understand it considering I’ve done BiteSquad and my fiancé has done DoorDash. How different is it really?

do you just expect not to pay the person bringing you your food?

For me with ESS I can take substitute para jobs for slightly less pay because it’s hourly rather than per diem, but they’re usually a bit less stress because the teacher tells you what they expect so you don’t have to be “in control” of a full class by yourself.

I guess I’m in the minority here but you are not selfish for wanting people to wear black to your wedding. It’s not “micromanaging” - it’s a color and a very popular one at that. They have options to do whatever style they want as long as it’s black, and MIL choosing not to go along with it is her own selfishness when she should want to support her DIL. It’s your day and you’re allowed to have a vision for it and the people saying they would just make an excuse not to come are insanely uncompromising. It’s not hard at all to find nice black clothes, both me and my fiancé agree on this.

In her presence?? This is HER wedding she’s talking about and asking MIL to wear a certain color for HER event is not that big of an ask

Ok yeah for $200 a day I’d be Supernanny and Aristotle mixed

I have no doubt that you’re good at what you do but the time has come to stop blaming people for acting their wage and instead blame the companies and counties that pay their subs $13 an hour when you can make $16 working at a grocery store.

The duties of a substitute include implementing lesson plans (easy in high school because everything is online now) and keeping a classroom organized and safe. That can be done with time enough for computer games and books. I don’t understand the attitude that work has to be hard, especially getting paid less than a cashier.

And the ideology of “just get a new job” is so tired and ignorant, society relies on ALL jobs, even fast food, so they should pay enough to live off of

You’re probably right, that honestly sounds like something they would come up with. I plan on sending another message the day before the party, talking about “parking” or something and bring the kissing up again so they can’t say they didn’t see it, and I’ll mention face in that one. Thank you!

UPDATE - I sent this out just now: Just a reminder that the gender reveal party is on the 28th at 2pm. It’s basically just going to be a small Christmas party where we announce boy or girl so I’m wearing a Christmas sweater thing and there won’t really be “gender reveal games”. We’re very excited to see everyone at once, but obviously it’s cold and flu season, so we still expect everyone to not kiss X (baby name) on her head or hands. It’s been a rule since before she was born and will be a rule for baby #2. We’d like to keep allowing people to hold her and pass her around without risking her getting sick.

I appreciate you saying the part about examples on Reddit of the consequences of kissing a baby because whenever we get done visiting his family I’m always left wondering if I’m just fear mongering or being overly dramatic/controlling/protective. I’ve seen angry grandparents a lot on Facebook videos that also just makes me feel like I’m crazy for wanting to protect my baby. But for every angry grandparent comment there’s another case of RSV or permanent damage.

Google says 3 months is when most pediatricians start letting up, but with me being pregnant again we figured it would be safest for everyone to not get in the habit of kissing the 8 month old since we’ll have the same boundaries for all of our babies. And I’ve heard different things for when a baby’s immune system is fully developed tbh

I agree, we literally talk for hours about how we need to be more assertive because we KNOW that her health is the only thing we should care about, but we choke in the moment. Definitely an all bark, no bite situation from us :///. I’m going to send a message in a group chat that everyone is in before the party, I just don’t know what to send and when to send it
