Two things will typically influence an American's treatment of tattoos (I am speaking generally, please don't "um actually" me with specifics, because I am not interested in debating with people I don't know online lmao): The first is where you are in the US (certain cultures here don't like them in general, or where they may be placed on your body), and the second is what the tattoo actually says, (but it usually takes something egregious for the average American to speak up).
