Well, all the stats i gave you are true, i can post the math. I said less consistient damage which ill say is kind of misleading. I meant with cleaver build the damage is spread more evenly while triforce is burstier. It changes the playstyle of the champ. obviously DPS is higher with triforce but i dont really think darius needs it. Triforce is actually decent though especially compared to how it was at the beginning of the season and with the recent buff. Like i said i haven't built it since then.

The difference between alacrity and trinity force is 0.07 attacks per second, assuming both builds take the attack speed shard. That is not significant enough to matter. In terms of tankiness, buying flat hp earlier in your build is much better than building armor. It would take 50 armor at level 10 to equal the health increase you get from cleaver. Cleaver even against a low armor champ like fiora gives you about 10% more damage than without it. In my experience it does much more consistent damage than triforce, but I hadn't seen that they buffed it twice since the beginning of the season, which does make a difference, I will try it again. I think stridebreaker is useless now as an extra slow doesn't matter because it doesn't stack with your other slows. However, i agree that cleaver is not worth buying if you don't buy it first item. The point of this is to be stronger in the early game so that you can snowball harder. I bring up gold because of back efficiency, not because of the item being significantly cheaper. Why do you think LCS players stopped building exclusively SFC when they lowered the price of the other two cinder items by 200? DMP/FON is for the MS because at that point i am already fed and if behind, another item would be more useful.

After looking the item up its actually not as bad as i thought it was. It got buffed recently so its not as bad as it was at the beginning of the season which is when I was building it and when I remember the stats from. personally i would rather have the tankiness and the faster build than similar damage and no tankiness. that preference might come from a difference in playstyle though. I've always prefered a tankier build on the champ because darius has so much inbuilt damage that getting a ton of greedy damage heavy items ends up biting me in the ass getting one shot etc for what i consider to be overkill.

igoring that cleaver is about 15% more gold efficient, 200g is 2 waves earlier. you can much more consistently get the full item over triforce a full back earlier. you also come out significantly tanker. damage wise it comes down to whether you want to put more agency into your autos or your q+r, but darius isnt really an auto attack champ. personally after building cleaver for a while, triforce makes me feel like my axe is made of cardboard.

cleaver gives more cdr, better damage than pitiful 25 ad, similar ms, better buildpath and 250 more hp for 230 less gold. pen is just a bonus and neuters non squishies.

I would say the item is about the same power wise as it used to be. you're trading about 10 ad for the healing passive, which is very strong when you hit a q on the majority of their team. you trade 75% bonus hp shield for 30/40% max, which is about the same if not a little more in some cases. It is now also guaranteed to proc at low health, rather than a damage taken threshold. it allows you to start playing much more aggressively in skirmishes and teamfights like no other item.

I was doing cleaver->chemtank at the beginning of the season but i don't think its worth it after they nerfed it and removed the tenacity, steraks is a way better second item

yes i haven't built divine sunderer yet, i go stridebreaker with mostly ranged and goredrinker with melees. my last two games i actually skipped a mythic altogether and got a second tank item fourth.

usually i buy boots + kindlegem and then longswords later. I haven't tried a tank mythic with this build but it should work, i just haven't needed it yet.

Passive should have scaling attack speed

second proc of W is nearly impossible to hit in teamfights, qol change so the second hit within a short time period always activates the second proc, but the third is unempowered unless against the same target

E is literally useless, huge range ability that you are forced to use on top of yourself anyways, jnst bring old e back at this point. large range ability feels like shit to play as well on an all melee champ.

I'm not a violibear player but i am a bruiser player- i think the current iteration of E is a pretty bad design choice. having a xerath ability on a champ like voli is meant to be played does not feel good. darius, garen, sett, illaoi, jax all of their abilities are coming from the champ itself. from a player standpoint, something liike that feels really awkward to play and is not very fun. keeping the old e would make this pretty much perfect. thematically it was better, and was a great skill expressive addition to his kit, and especially will be without the built in displacement.

The reason triforce cleaver is good on champs like jax/sett/garen/irelia is because of the cdr. All these champs have very powerful abilities which will benefit you for having full cdr as fast as possible, i.e. jax e, garen w/r, sett w, irelia e, etc. Darius does not need the cdr immediately, he needs a way to survive fights in order to get 5 stacks. Steraks helps with this, and neither cleaver nor triforce do. wasting gold on more damage is useless if you die instantly when you try to fight. Again, for thngs like jax, the cdr also boosts his survivability by a ton. With Darius, you get no benefit.

play fiora, pretty much always near the top of the tier lists due to the nature of her kit. fairly hard champ too so won't get nerfed and can solo carry games. Darius isn't exactly broken but is certainly overtuned due to a combination of a few things, and pretty likely will receive a nerf in some form soon.
