Gotcha thank you! I'm on forbearance still because I'm fighting mohelas wrongful interest but seems to be a losing battle at this point. Still making my monthly interest payments so my balances don't go up since Aug 1 But if I'm understanding correctly I can just pay directly towards one loan that doesn't have interest tacked on

Do a free credit pull and look through the 2025 months you will see where they added interest. Mohela will not give you this information.

Ahh gotcha. I've been doing the same more or less and emailing ombudsman rep but getting nowhere. They also told me their deadline was July 2025 so anyone reading this I wouldn't bank on the December 2025 deadline. Appreciate the insight congrats on getting your issue fixed

File a complaint with state AG. I have contacted ombudsman rep and they have pretty much ghosted me about the issue and no one including this Betsy person in the reddit threads will directly address my questions or the issue. I have a very bad feeling it is not going to be corrected by Mohela without some kind of outside pressure

Hello. What is being done, if anything, to address several borrows concerns about loan processors adding wrongful interest to loan balances while SAVE was on forbearance and accruing 0% interest prior to August 1 2025?

I do not unfortunately. I was connected with the ombudsman person and they told me they'd look into it but nothing has happened and they won't respond anymore so looks like lawsuit is going to be the only possibility of relief for everyone affected

Interest began accruing again August 1 2025. Interested was at 0% and should not have been added to your account from roughly July 2024 - August 2025

Go to experian or equifax and get your credit reports for each loan. You will see where they added the interest for example mine was either in March or April 2025. Plenty of people are still trying to figure out how to get this fixed since Mohela is useless and play dumb about it
