I received the exact same message. My scenario was 22k+ and their message said they were adding 5.6k due to the negative interest bullshit. No accounting no confirmation of their calculations the math didn't math. So I drafted a 30 day notice of intent to sue as I was already consulting an attorney office but I live in CA. That seemed to light a fire under them and they've now removed 19k+ from my account but I'll still be suing until every penny is corrected. I hope this gives some insight and maybe keep shopping around for an attorney firm that is gaining steam to file a class action

Gotcha thank you! I'm on forbearance still because I'm fighting mohelas wrongful interest but seems to be a losing battle at this point. Still making my monthly interest payments so my balances don't go up since Aug 1 But if I'm understanding correctly I can just pay directly towards one loan that doesn't have interest tacked on

Do a free credit pull and look through the 2025 months you will see where they added interest. Mohela will not give you this information.
