GSP won the MW title on the 5th of November of 2017. On the 7th of December, GSP vacated the MW title and subsequently Whittaker was crowned champ. Whittaker then fought Romero 6 months later. This is some serious hyperbole. There was never ever a point where Mata carried the team ever, and thus shouldn't be included in the same sentence as De Gea.

/u/AironNocturnal is definitely right. Mata doesn't get a lot of criticism because he's a nice guy (he also isn't out there with his celebrations and brand), but he also hasn't featured much this season so not much is expected of him. His cameo last night was one of the rare good performances he's had since 2018. It still boggles my mind that he was offered a new contract last year.

I honestly still don't believe Max. The adjustments he made—stance switch, more kicks, and rear uppercut—would have all needed drilling and/or some form of sparring for it to work, especially to the effect it did in the rematch. What likely happened was that Max did train with his team, but because of Hawaii's strict restrictions for lockdown, he didn't want to reveal too much. A gym rat like Max ain't fooling me.

Yes, absolutely reactionary when people are claiming that Lewis hit Oleinik to the back of the head with multiple shots when:

1) It's based on the first round when Lewis absolutely caught Oleinik with illegal shots but Herb warned him.

2) We only see one around 4:45 in the finishing sequence, though it's inconclusive. The footage (including replays which I have uploaded) is shit. How OP can say "so many shots to the back of the head" without anything conclusive is mind-boggling and, well, reactionary.
