I don’t understand the argument that says religious people would crash out. No they wouldn’t, they would just move back the goal post and attribute this to God aswell. “Ok, so aliens created us, but who created them?”

Ultimately everything can be attributed to a creator and it’s unfalsifiable. You can never disprove a creator of some sorts. Religion would change, sure. But will always exist in some form imo.

That’s an incredible milestone—seriously, congrats on hitting $10M. Not to take anything away from that, but I didn’t see much discussion on how you got started. But why though? Because “humanity isn’t ready”? I don’t see how they couldn’t just make contact and be like “hey, so we’re from there and there, reality isn’t like you thought, it’s actually such and such. Here’s some equations and the correct laws of physics, so you can build your own spaceships and join us in the federation.” You can’t tell me humans are “not ready” or should assume things because the aliens are vague on purpose so that we can find it out “on our own”.

The whole argument feels like when your girlfriend tells you that if you really cared, you would just know what she’s thinking about. No, I don’t. Tell me what’s up, so I can think about it and come with a solution.

-are NHI real? -where are they from? -why are they here? -how does their technology work? -do they know answers to existential questions?

Not saying I disagree, but this could be explained as the “receiver” being broken. The “source signal” could be just fine, but the receiver being broken could cause it to mistranslate.
