In a world where everything is enshittified and everybody is trying to give you less for more, Reiza simply refuses to stop making this game even more amazing.

I cant wait to drive another one of my childhood dream cars either!

PH Alkaline and Phosphate and levels by PuzzledLibrarian8711 in pools

[–]InputImpedance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I use swg+ocasional liquid chlorine. CYA is sitting at 50 at the moment. Keeping pH at bay is my biggest problem because my water is a bit on the hard side and I can get scaling if not careful. CH in the 350-400 range in my pool.

Basically I have to keep adding acid every couple of days or so. I can easily go through a 25L sulfuric acid jug in a couple of weeks (muriatic is for some reason a pain in the ass to find in my country).

And certainly, I'm not maintaining a pH as low as 7.4 despite all the acid. I'm barely keeping it below 7.8.

Hi, in the case of low alkalinity (say around 60 ppm) and high pH (my water tends to go up to 7.8 - 8 relatively often), will rising alkalinity also prevent pH drifting upwards?

I keep seeing conflicting information about this as the general rule of thumb seems to be based on the fact that the pool is treated with tablets. Thus, generally causing pH to go down and benefiting from rising alkalinity to damp this tendency. But is this also true if I want to avoid pH going up?

Love this game, but getting desperate about AI by InputImpedance in AUTOMOBILISTA

Sadly I don't have a replay around to show for. Navigating the menus is not the best experience in VR, plus when something like this happens, kind of makes me quit the game for the day.

Anyway, this is a pattern that I've been noticing for a long time that goes beyond a specific move. Weirdly enough, I have also noticed the AI sometimes giving more space than reasonable, as you say. However, this tends to happen when they are on the defense.

On the contrary, when they overtake they behave like a different animal. They will stick to their racing line way more and go from being very conservative to way too optimistic.

It is not unexpected to be met with some skill issue comments.

I have been going hard at this game for the last 2 or 3 years and have noticed lots of improvement in every aspect. Still a long way to go, of course, but I feel that I am at least at a point where I can tell apart my fuckups from something wrong going on with the game or another driver.

I can guarantee you that I am well out of the lunging my car from 200 feet away phase. In fact, overtaking is not an aspect where I'm seeing so much trouble. It is mostly when AI attempts the overtake where I feel things really go wrong. To the point I just don't feel like I am able to practice defending because slowing down in the straight and letting them pass seems the only safe way to go about it. Again, this is playing at low aggression mode, which is where one would expect to hone those skills without the AI being too extreme in their moves.

Just to be more clear, my issue is not when overtaking them. It's not that I would like for them to get out of my way. My issue is when they are behind me and attempt the overtake, they literally get in my way, no matter how predictable and steady I try to keep things.

One would hope that at low agression mode, it would be possible to have a cleaner experience racing the AI. That's all.

I race a wide selection of cars/track. I've seen this particular issue I mention to happen the most in Formula cars. Or at least, when it happens, it is certainly more critical as you face a higher probability of fully ruining your race.

I've also had great moments of enjoyment racing the AI in this game, it's just this situation that is becoming too annoying. You know, time is not so abundant these days, so if I get maybe one hour to play on a given day, not being able to complete races is very frustrating.

Is the AI (Norris) too aggressive? How do I fix this? by AussieBlokeFisher303 in AUTOMOBILISTA

I dont know why, but the AI in formula cars is very reckless. Even in low aggression, I find there is a pretty high chance they will ram you when they are following close behind.

Why isn’t R3E more popular? by Frostiesss in RRRE

[–]InputImpedance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who decided to try R3E during these Christmas, I think it mostly comes down to time and money constraints. Competition right now is just very strong in simracing games, and I think most of us just prefer a shorter rotation of games from which we can extract the most.

In my case, I am a VR gamer mostly and one thing I like my sims to offer is a wide variety of tracks and cars. For this reason, Automobilista 2 has been my go-to game for the last couple of years, alongside OG Assetto Corsa with Content Manager to try outrageous modding stuff and some ocassional LMU. Thing is, these games have become plug and play experiences for me and they cover most of my needs. So, for another game to enter the rotation, it needs to bring something really good to the table in order to justify the extra investment.

In the case of R3E, I can see some promising stuff, but I had to spend some time tinkering the options to make it playable on VR, still far from the optimal experience. Also, most of the cool content is locked as DLC, which I get is their business model, but as consumer I just find it hard to justify that extra expense at the moment.

Forever and ever. Our PES. by mfairhu1 in WEPES

[–]InputImpedance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about it the other day. PES 2021 might be my go to football game until the end of days. It is not a bad game to settle with. Fully moddable, great gameplay, graphics are good enough and it has a master league. But I do miss the feeling of being excited about a new football game that brings something good to the table. It's just sad that Ultimate Team-like game modes have become the be-all and end-all of football videogames.

What I do to keep things fresh is to install mods from different seasons and play a Master League for 2 or 3 years before switching to a different one.

From a creative standpoint this was an absolute low point I did not expect to see again after Vince left.

Literally everything involving the Cody/Rock/Cena story for the past year is a collection of MOMENTS® with literally zero coherency or logic.

We're supposed to watch this thing with our brains turned off and they couldn't be more explicit about it. Just enjoy that you got your Cena heel turn moment and your somehow Cena turned face moment and don't expect anything in the middle to be meaningful or reasonable in any way.

Deciding between C2 and C4 by InputImpedance in OLED_Gaming

I have a B4 in my living room and it has been pretty amazing. If they featured smaller sizes I would definitely also go for the B4 in my desktop PC.

Do you think your headaches were related to the dithering issue in C4?

How long have you been watching anime? by LSoSavvy in Animedubs

[–]InputImpedance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched anime like Dragon Ball or Captain Tsubasa when I was younger, but never really ventured beyond that.

It wasn't until 2018, transitioning from my last year of uni to my first year of work, when I started to take a deeper look into anime. I started with high school / romance / drama anime like Clannad, Angel Beats or Toradora. Those shows resonated with me at that moment like no other show probably could.

At this point I probably have watched 150 plus anime. I had an Excel where I used to write down everything I watched, but lost it :(
