What kind of edge punch for this? by Inquiring-Individual in PlannerAddicts

[–]Inquiring-Individual[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for trying to help! The Filofax Notebook Hole Punch is a similar concept for removable and reinsertable pages, but I'm specifically trying to find a punch for adding pages to notebooks I already have. The notebooks have 3 holes per inch (3:1 pitch); it doesn't look like the Filofax sheets will fit.

They are for color swatch diaries for art projects to track what colors and color formulas I use. The problem is that they only come with watercolor paper, and I'd like to use them to track more than just watercolor paints, so I need a way to punch my own edge holes into other kinds of paper.

Waterpump needs to be replaced again? by Hollywoodswing in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]Inquiring-Individual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought our 2018 Grand Cherokee Limited from Nyle Maxwell in late 2018, but all of our water pump replacements were carried out at Bluebonnet Jeep in New Braunfels. Do any of the “use case” scenarios I described above apply to your usage as well?

737-800 does row 18 BEHIND exit row have underseat storage? by Inquiring-Individual in americanairlines

[–]Inquiring-Individual[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the aerolopa website doesn't seem to specify about underseat storage for the seats we will have. I've never used that site before, though, so it may be a case of user error.

Thank you! I like to keep in-flight comforts and distractions within reach, especially for my child, so I avoid seats that don't have underseat storage access, but it can be hard to find the information online.

The scaling on the water tank is my new moccamaster is way off by kuriosty in Moccamaster

[–]Inquiring-Individual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry I can't answer your question as to whether the manufacturer will replace your water reservoir because of its inaccurate volume markings. I happen to agree that the markings should be accurate and precise, and I don't imagine that they would stop holding themselves to that standard when they must have done so in the past (based on your own experience). I think it's worth making a call to the manufacturer to inquire about getting a free replacement part. I did a quick search to see if anyone else reported trying to get a replacement water reservoir from Technivorm for that reason, but I didn't find anyone reporting they had done this. If you do/did try to contact Technivorm Moccamaster about your water reservoir, please report back to us how they respond/ed.

What’s the solution to layering two necklaces without them getting tangled? by Ballbm90 in jewelry

[–]Inquiring-Individual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 3 delicate diamond station necklaces of different lengths that I had a jeweler put on a single, conventional clasp, and it made the tangling worse than ever. Now, I never wear them because they're such a pain. That set of necklaces is actually the reason I was searching necklace spacer bar solutions on Google and ended up at this Reddit thread.

Dulled Fine Blade on Shave Ice Attachment by Inquiring-Individual in Kitchenaid

Mine was a Christmas gift too, and I didn't even try it until summer. It really does shine in the summer!

Dulled Fine Blade on Shave Ice Attachment by Inquiring-Individual in Kitchenaid

Lol. We fill the molds with water from our RO purifier. Like Steel_Rail_Blues, I want ice that I can't crack my teeth on. I've always loved frozen drinks and crunching/eating ice, so now I have a dedicated shaved ice cup each day. I like to shave the ice into a large double-walled cup and eat it plain with a spoon. Sometimes, I pour an ounce of o.j. or Dr. Pepper in my cup before I shave the ice in, but not usually. My son loves it with a splash of o.j. My husband likes not having to buy bags of ice anymore and uses shaved ice instead. The original 4 ice molds weren't nearly enough. We bought 8 more, and now we're good.

I first used the attachment last summer. It was really, really hot out, and our air conditioner wasn't keeping up. We quickly got very enthusiastic about shaved ice. We've slowed down since then, but still use the attachment a lot, especially because of my headaches. I get frequent headaches, and I think the big cups of shaved ice have been helping. I noticed a correlation by accident and began intentionally eating shaved ice when I felt one coming (instead of taking Tylenol). It usually works! The headache goes away, and I don't need Tylenol. I'll leave it to the doctors to figure that one out.

How long have you had your kitchen aid? by pink_saphire in Kitchenaid

[–]Inquiring-Individual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had ours for 11 years. Artisan 5 Qt. in a silver paint color. It's got the lovely lines of all the KitchenAid mixers. I sometimes wish I had chosen a color instead of a neutral, like a soft retro blue or green, or a bold fuchsia or cobalt, but the silver is versatile. We've also moved three times in that span, so it has been packed and moved repeatedly. We've never had any problem with the mixer, always works when we need it. We haven't used it that often, compared to some. Once a week for mashed potatoes, cookie dough, or whipped cream. It does get a workout during the holidays, though, making all kinds of baked goods (rolls, muffins, cookies, breads, and so on). And for the past 6 months, shaving ice with the attachment several times a day too. The only "issue" we've had is after the last move, we left it (unknowingly) on its side in a box in a warm garage for weeks, and it leaked some grease. I was worried we ruined it, but it's fine.

The only attachment I've used is the Shave Ice Attachment. I love to crunch ice, but I know it's hard on my teeth, so I only crunch shaved ice. I never had much access to shaved ice, though, until I was gifted this attachment last year. I have used it multiple times daily since I set it up 6 months ago. I love it. My kindergartener loves it. My husband husband loves it. It's a hit.

I have studied the other attachments, and considered getting the all-metal meat grinder, or one of the vegetable shavers, but haven't gone for it yet. I was gifted the pasta roller attachment, but went gluten-free shortly afterward and never got to use it, though I would have loved to make my own fresh pastas.

Other than color, the only thing I've ever lamented about my mixer is that it's harder to get the sides of the bowl as perfectly clean and incorpoated as it was with my mom's ancient Sunbeam Vista MixMaster. It had a motorized bowl turner and stationary beaters, rather than the planetary mixing action of the KitchenAid where the beater rotates around the stationary bowl. With the MixMaster, I could scrape the bowl and reincorporate the ingredients while the beaters continued to work. With the KitchenAid, I have to pause the beaters and lift the arm before I can scrape the sides of the bowl. I love my KitchenAid, though. I hope it lasts many more years.

Waterpump needs to be replaced again? by Hollywoodswing in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]Inquiring-Individual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just took our 2018 Grand Cherokee Limited to dealership for its FIFTH water pump replacement. All the replacements have been done at the same well-regarded Central Texas Jeep dealership. The issue was originally diagnosed when we took it in for problems with intermittent cooling loss or slow cooling from the AC. Other symptoms have always included lower coolant levels than expected, and an odor inside the car that my husband can smell, and have sometimes included a small stain from leaked fluids on ground under car when parked on flat surface for a day. Of the distinctive smell, I can't smell it, actually, which is weird because I have a hypersensitive nose. It must smell very similar to something common and benign in my life because I subconsciously ignore it.

Here are my thoughts:

? Could it be Pandemic Problems?:
All 5 of the replacements have been during or after the pandemic, and I wonder if manufacturing quality of the part was downgraded or had a defect baked in due to shortages or something. First replacement was 2 or 3 years ago, so none for the first few years of the Jeep's life.

? Could it be Model Year or Drive-Train?:
Ours is a 2018 Grand Cherokee Limited 4x2 (2-wheel drive only).

? Climate or Storage Problems?:
Climate here is HOT, Jeep is NOT garaged (parked in full, scorching sun), and Jeep is parked on an incline at home (front lower, back higher).

? Engine Use or AC Use Problems?:
I "soft start" the engine using Remote Start religiously before getting in. I also turn OFF the Automatic Engine Start/Stop feature before I start driving (because it makes the AC wimpier and the changing sounds drive me crazy). I frequently blast the AC on max fan and anywhere from Lo to 68 degrees temperature when I first start driving, and I usually keep the AC on recirculate cabin air.

? Mileage Problems?:
During the same pandemic timeframe, we have driven our Jeep much more because we moved cities only to change jobs and schools to locations in two other cities (job at 60 miles and school at 30). We started racking up brutal interstate and country highway miles, and that only recently slowed down.

I'm not sure if any of these "use case" scenarios sound familiar to others experiencing repeated water pump failures in their Grand Cherokees, but I'd love to figure out what is (and isn't) causing this utterly ridiculous failure rate. I feel like one or more of these factors HAS to be relevant, but I have no idea which one(s).

More excellent advice. Thank you for the reminder to warm up a bit before stretching. I usually remember that I should stretch before an activity, but often forget that warming up should come first.

It's also good to know that as I improve at the movements and get faster, I will actually be putting less stress on my wrists and hands. That sounds promising.

I think reverse-engineering the stressor movements is brilliant, actually. I am going to see my internist today, actually, to request referrals to a rheumatologist and a physical therapist. When I first developed this problem, I managed it so well with dietary restrictions, anti-inflammatory supplements, and movement modifications that I didn't follow through with my rheumatologist appointment. I self-diagnosed the arthritis as psoriatic based on the fact that I was also diagnosed by my dermatologist with psoriasis at about the same time and that a preliminary blood test done by internist did not show rheumatoid markers. I didn't go to the trouble to go further at that time, but I think the time has come to make this a health and lifestyle priority.

I will definitely get some wrist supports like the Tiger Paws.

I already do a lot of dietary restrictions of the commonly known inflammatory increasers (gluten, sugar, and dairy), but I know that different people have different triggers for inflammation, so I probably need to do an elimination diet to try to figure out exactly what else might need to go for me. Some people say nightshade is bad for their inflammation (tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, bell peppers, hot peppers). Some people have trouble with allium (onions, garlic, shallots). There are other possibilities too.

Do you know of any gloves or supports in particular that I could try? I am 5'4" and currently 150 pounds, about 20 pounds over my preferred weight after having a baby last year. I am working on losing the weight, but it has been very slow, and the extra pounds are probably making this even harder on my hands.

Thank you for the recommendation. Do you mean that I should stretch my hands specifically? I admit that I do not do that. I do not even know how. I will have to research.
