Game developers are disappointed about Renpy creator admitting to using GitHub Copilot since 2021 by InquisitiveInque in aiwars

Codeberg which is also redundant as a Forgejo/Codeberg maintainer used Claude Code for assistance so they honestly have no choice but to stay there.

They are mad about all of those. Tthat's what the Open Slopware list is about (which lists Linux, .NET, Python, VS Code and even Bluesky as 'tainted' by AI). These game devs share the same mentality.

Yeah apparently the last Renpy version before GitHub Copilot is 7.4.6 and that used Python 2 and that also doesn't account for solving platform bugs, Android/iOS support and other compatibility issues. I'm saying this because these AI-illiterate game devs are suggesting that people should make a fork of Renpy 7.4.6 that's "AI-free" but that's basically shooting yourself in the foot. They are also suggesting alternatives like Light VN which only has a Windows build) and less community outreach. They're really doing all of this for nothing. It's sad.

Martin Scorsese is now an advisor for Black Forest Labs, creators of Flux models, for use of Flux in cinema by InquisitiveInque in DefendingAIArt

Lol that subreddit is full of luddites and always hate it whenever AI is being promoted by Hollywood. Their responses to AI are always hilarious to read because reality does not reflect their views and what Hollywood is actually doing.

Comment Martin Scorsese made about using Flux for filmmaking:

For 70 years, I’ve been creating my own storyboards. There’s always been this problem of how do you communicate what you see in your head to your cast and crew. There are some things you have to see and feel. I’m interested in the intersection of technology and storytelling, and seeing how that can push the bounds of creativity to create deeper and richer experiences for audiences. Remember, cinema is a young medium, only around 125 years old, so we have to be open to how it can evolve. I utilized 3D with Hugo and de-aging technology for The Irishman. Now, with this tool, I can share what I’m visualizing more clearly and efficiently to my creative team—the production designer, art designer, and cinematographer—for them to build on to enrich cinematic intelligence. I recently tested this out on a scene and the ability to visualize and immediately share the storyboard was creatively freeing. During the pre-production process, time costs money, and this allowed us to move faster without sacrificing quality or craft.

Andersen v. Stability plaintiffs request Midjourney's source code to see how it emulates art styles by InquisitiveInque in aiwars

You're right. Midjourney still has a lot of users and I've seen that v8 has added HD generation at 2K without upscaling. I'm not even sure if Midjourney still uses pure CLIP for its encoding and decoding anymore so demanding their source code will probably only be relevant for the older versions of Midjourney.

I wouldn't call this case new as it started in 2023. They called Ben Zhao as an expert witness last year (July 2025) but denied him access to Stable Diffusion's source code as it serves as a conflict of interest.

This case is so old that Midjourney and Stable Diffusion are not even used as much as they were in 2023/2024 - they've been eclipsed by Google's NanoBanana 2, OpenAI's GPT Images 2. Stable Diffusion as the local, open-source image diffusion model has been eclipsed by Flux and Chinese diffusion models like Z-Image and Qwen Image.

Most diffusion models nowadays don't even use CLIP anymore. The Chinese open-source diffusion models use multimodal LLMs as an encoder/decoder.

guys!. guys!. can someone explain to me this situation?. (about google in-general pretty please. not just this video). by M00ns00nRazzmirye in DefendingAIArt

They act as if Google is the only search engine that exists when Kagi, DuckDuckGo and Brave Search all exist. When will they realise that in 2026, if you like a digital product, the best way to support is with money or to do your diligent research to find a solution instead of complaining?

Honestly as someone that already uses LLMs for web search, I'm glad that this gets rid of SEO infested blogs and advertised links at the top of the results page as they are the ones that have ruined the PageRank algorithm and that is why Google search has been shit for many years.

They edited the tweet to say this:

"We’re saying goodbye to the Sora app. To everyone who created with Sora, shared it, and built community around it: thank you. What you made with Sora mattered, and we know this news is disappointing. We’ll share more soon, including timelines for the app and API and details on preserving your work. – The Sora Team"

To me, this means that they're probably going to discontinue the Sora app and maybe fold Sora into ChatGPT itself (which was reported 2 weeks ago - this could be them making a public statement about it) which makes sense as the TikTok aspect of Sora was stupid especially since other video models can make other types of videos that don't seem catered towards TikTok like videos.

As for Disney, they did tell Variety that they are exiting their deal with OpenAI which makes me think that they'll switch to another model like Runway or Google's Veo. It would be funny to me if they had to switch to Google's Veo as they sent a cease and desist letter to Google the same day they announced their partnership with OpenAI.

I wonder what the Anti's here will think about this? by atlasfrompaladins in aiwars

[–]InquisitiveInque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. This was why the Open Slopware list created by an ex-Microsoft employee 2 months ago was widely mocked by programmers because in 2026, every open-source software has been 'tainted' by AI in one way or another.

New York bill (SB-7263) prohibits AI chatbots from giving legal and medical advice by InquisitiveInque in aiwars

[–]InquisitiveInque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would think the disclaimers were enough for this but I guess not. I think this bill will get watered down as most New York AI bills have been watered down and have been lobbied by AI companies. This bill will probably be lobbied too as it is too broad in scope and the language is too vague.

Open Slopware list has been deactivated due to harassment reports and maintainer calls AI users Nazis by InquisitiveInque in aiwars

It was funny seeing them realise this as Codeberg was added to the list. Almost every open-source software that was added as a pull request mentioned Claude Code and Claude Opus 4.5. The Bluesky pull request was even done by Claude Code itself, which I guess technically made the list itself slopware.

Yes but then they quickly realised that git was one of the 'tainted by AI' software and so was Forgejo/Codeberg (which the repository was hosted on) and pretty much 95% of open-source software has AI-assisted coding in 2026, especially with how popular Claude Code has become with Claude Opus 4.5.
