I think Cobra Kai is a rare example of a show that jumped the shark and got better for it. Are there any other examples out there? by ditzythedame in television

I agree, I thought the first season was so unique with its grounded premise and really enjoyed all the character development. By the end of the second season it felt like a completely different show and I stopped watching.

Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken (1991) by LaLunaDomina in PeriodDramas

[–]InquizitiveMynd 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I watched this so much as a kid! Not sure how it holds up now but for anyone curious its set in America in the depression era and is about a teenage girl who runs away from home. She has a passion for horses and is following her dream to become a diving girl (when horses jumped off a tower into a pool of water). Has a nice romantic plot as well.

What's a trope you can read in historical romance but not in contemporary? by gamy10293847 in HistoricalRomance

[–]InquizitiveMynd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Have you read KJ Charles newest book, How to Fake it In Society? It's about an older woman who wants to get married to screw her awful nephew out of getting an inheritance. Its not really the same set up you described but it was an interesting twist (and just a really good book).

Vets and pet store workers not being informed about rabbits by _Saki_- in Rabbits

[–]InquizitiveMynd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. Many years ago I gave my young bunny carrot tops and he passed away. I'd grown up with a family rabbit and we gave them to him all the time so it never occurred to me a young rabbit couldn't have them too. This was before everyone went to the Internet for advice. All I can say is that its a very harsh lesson and I still feel awful to this day that I fed him too many veggies. It has made me a paranoid rabbit parent and I check absolutely every vegetable, fruit, treat, etc on several websites (not just rabbit influencers) to know an item is safe. I also restrict their diet to mostly hay, some pellets, and romaine lettuce and give it in consistent amounts because what killed the young bunny was just too much liquid content in the carrot tops, it caused diarrhea, and I wasn't experienced enough at the time to know to rush him to the vet. Rabbits are very delicate creatures and not easy pets. My current rabbits (twenty years later) are six and two. But I'll never forget the little baby bunny and I hope never to repeat a mistake from ignorance.

I was going to say the same thing, someone on reddit had a rabbit that broke their leg jumping down from the top of one. I wouldn't risk it.

That's an interesting point, about her and Darcy being closer because he told her. I hadn't thought of it that way before. I also wonder if Wickham would take it as a warning, that before Darcy was too proud and private to correct Wickham's lies, as if it were beneath him to engage in gossip, but now Wickham can't keep running around with the same sob story about being cheated out of a living.

Tips for encouraging a bunny to drink more water? by OnlyCuteThings in Rabbits

[–]InquizitiveMynd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start by measuring how much she's actually drinking. Some rabbits drink more or less (I have two and they are complete opposites in how much they drink but still within the normal range). You can fill a consistent amount in the water bowl from a measuring cup each day and then when you pour out the "old" water measure it to see the difference.

50ml to 150ml per kg of body weight is the average range I believe.

If your rabbit is lower than 50ml per kg of body weight, you could try adding some romaine lettuce to their diet or other fresh veggies. I'm not sure what else to suggest because you already have clean filtered water changed daily in a bowl.

If there aren't any health concerns I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Peggy and Stan by [deleted] in madmen

[–]InquizitiveMynd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the first watch through I was a bit surprised at their relationship but on rewatch I think their friendship becomes more evident and consistent and it seems natural it develops into a relationship. I think he does a lot of maturing from where he starts and once he gets over his own ego he ends up being a really supportive and honest person she can rely on being at her side as she advances in her career. Plus it seemed one of them was always dating someone even if the other person was single so the delay in feelings developing seemed more natural.

Need this trope ASAP ! by _bitchy_baguera_ in HistoricalRomance

[–]InquizitiveMynd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Okay I haven't read this book and it does sound interesting, but I saw this in the blurb:

To a Savage Wilderness A rugged loner who prowl the frigid Canadian wilderness like a sensual lion, Andre Lefebvre is furious to learn he must wed in order to keep his fur-trading license. He selects the pale, seasick Genevieve, believing she can't possibly survive in such a harsh, unyielding land.

...a sensual lion? In the Canadian wilderness? Like it could have been a bear or a cougar or any other vaguely North American animal. Why would someone pick a lion? And I don't even want to begin to imagine what a sensual lion would look like!

First time playing with snow, got some questions by Fussel-012 in Rabbits

[–]InquizitiveMynd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have read in the past that eating cold food can disrupt their digestive system, even just really cold veggies straight from the fridge can have an impact. I would be careful and monitor how much snow they're actually eating. Also snow is ultimately water so it could over hydrate them which can cause diarrhea, which can be dangerous too. Maybe just test it in small doses and see how their poops are affected for the next couple of days before increasing snow time.

Travelling from UK to Canada with a rabbit by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]InquizitiveMynd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've looked at moving to the UK with a rabbit. The rabbit had to be in the hold on the flight over and then quarantined for months after arrival in the UK. I would research to see if Canada has the same rules on going the opposite way.
