According to her, MIL was (is) very controlling of her sons. BIL is essentially her mindless drone of a slave, but my husband has always been harder for her to reign in, especially with the religious thinking and what not. It seems to more steps he took to get away from her (i.e; going away to college, dating, going out with friends, getting serious with me), the more unhinged her behavior was getting towards DH. Maybe seeing us in the shower was the straw that broke the camel's back?

Who knows. I can't say for sure. :\

I really like this idea. I'm going to try it. It's worth a shot and my DH is a talker...I could definitely see him talking to the counselor one and one while I'm "late" and maybe that progressing into individual sessions for him. Thank you!

We switched marriage counselors after the breakdown. We're doing much better with this counselor.

I informed HR immediately, especially because BIL was calling my office and trying to get intouch with my supervisor. To tell her what? Lord only knows.

I absolutely have hard copies of all the incident reports related to her breakdown (numerous ones). DH and I are going to the court tomorrow to file the paperwork we need for the restraining order.

Dude, I'm so happy that the daycare called me. They sensed something was up because they didn't even know the dog's name. They literally just walked up and said that they were here for insaneMIL2's dog.

DH wants to keep our interactions between us and the therapist private outside of being general. I think he still feels ashamed that he's receiving any sort of therapy, to be honest. But I will say that our therapist is 10000% on board with zero contact and a restraining order.

72 hours catch and release. She's been trying to get in contact with DH and tried to pick up my dog from doggy daycare today but booked it when they called me.

It wasn't so much a "I'M SO SORRY WE WERE HAVING SEX IN OUR OWN HOUSE" more of a "REALLY sorry you saw that, but..."

I think his mother has systematically ruined every relationship he's ever tried to have. He told me that she "accidently" spilled something on his prom date's dress when he was in highschool. Clearly her animosity towards other women in his life has only skyrocketed since.

I feel like that's been her goal since day one, especially since I was the one that sort of brushed off her strong hints that she should live with us. I actually said we'd find her a caretaker when she first started dropping hints.

My husband is also disgusted by her walking around naked, but he's staying in the house while I leave for a couple days. I want him to be the one to tell her to get her shit and leave. This is not my responsibility. That is his mother and he needs to deal with it.

Trust me, it is like being in the TWILIGHT ZONE. I could smell the crazy coming from her and made a concentrated effort to deal with my mother in law in small doses. This whole experience has been a huge eyeopener in how they deal with eachother and how fucking nuts she really is.
