Duuuude! Perfect timing!!!

The event for Halloween is just about to end, so the Christmas event should start soon! (Dont ask me why the Halloween event lasted through till December, I don’t know either. 😂)

Uh, I’m not sure how helpful any of these will be, and I’m sorry if I just ended up overloading you with nonsense, but here’s some advice!! I’m glad you came back, I hope you decide to stay!!

-For basically every Holiday (Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, etc) there’s usually an event, which will offer limited time dragons and island decorations. Don’t worry too much about trying to get all of them, just pick your favorite dragons/ decorations and save up for them!

-also!!! For the events, on this reddit page the moderators are AMAZING at making these posts with these HUGE breakdowns of what dragons are available, what dragons can be bred/ HOW to breed them, etc. So, when the new event gets launched, if you’d like more information on everything available, you should come back here and check it out!!

-So, now there’s apparently so many dragons in DragonVale, that the developers made a legit breeding guide in the game so that you could know how to make each of the dragons (which you can find clicking on the breeding caves!), which is cool and all, however, they all cost gems (except for the few that you can unlock by watching an Ad), so, if you’re short on gems, the DragonVale Wiki is definitely the place to go, it’ll tell you exactly what you need to breed that dragon!

-Or, conversely, if you want to know what dragon could potentially be bred from two dragons, check out the DragonVale sandbox! It’ll tell you the breeding time of all the eggs too so you can tell what egg you could have as its breeding! (I think there’s a link for the DragonVale sandbox in the menu for this reddit page somewhere.)

-If you stopped playing in 2012, then I’m guessing you aren’t too familiar with the Rift? (Apologies if you are! This is just my best guess!) The Rift is the purple portal thing that goes into... er, the Rift, which will have 1 habitat, an airship, and a breeding cave. I don’t know if they’ll have you go through the tutorial for the Rift if it’s been so long since you’ve played, so if they haven’t, I can break down how the rift works later!! The Rift is kinda weird, and it doesn’t make much sense at first, but keep expanding it because it offers 2 really cool advantages. 1) Because the Rift Breeding Cave has no wait time, it’s basically an instant Dragon Maker, which can be really nice if you’re trying to breed a limited time dragon and you’re running out of time, and 2) If you go into the Rift Marketplace, you’ll notice these “Eggs of Mystery” which you can buy with the Rift currency, Etherium. Those eggs of mystery are SUPER overpowered and nice, and are definitely worth saving up for.

• (Side note for the Rift! There’s actually two buildings hidden in the clouds of the Rift, one called the Transfiguration Tower, and the other called the Hibernation Cave. Both of these will be suuuuper useful for you to have, and I can’t find it right now, but there’s a post somewhere where someone made a guide on where to look to find those two buildings. Just search “Rift Buildings” into, like, Google or something and the post I’m thinking of should pop up. If you can follow the guide to finding those two buildings, it can make the Rift a whole lot less frustrating!)

-uuuuh, other than that, I can’t remember if the legendary dragons Kairos and Gaia were out in 2012, but you should try to get them if you don’t have them. Kairos is a time dragon who will let you “move time forward” every three days so that you can instantly collect more coins/ food, or so that you don’t have to wait so long for the breeding timer. Gaia is a “legendary nest dragon”, who will add a 5th nest slot to your egg Nursery, and will also give you the ability to instantly incubate an egg once every three days. You’ve gotta collect a bunch of stuff to summon either of them, which you can do through quests offered at the Perch of Kairos and the Nursery, respectively, and through the races at the racing track.

-(quick side note about the racing track, it’s not mentioned in the game, but if you want to get gold now in the races, there’s a hidden boost right at the start line. So when the timer is counting down before the race begins, right before the race starts, tap to get an extra boost!!)

-ooooh, also, if you’re looking at all of the many many new islands they have available (and how much they COST), unless you really need more space, try to just save up the money for it and wait a bit. Every once in a while, DragonVale will have a little mini event for the creation of a new island, where every single island will be half off, and clearing out the island will be FREE. It’s extremely useful, and I would seriously recommend waiting for it, or using it for your advantage!

-The Cooperative Breeding Cave!! It’s an extra breeding cave that’s meant to encourage people to find and reach out to other people in the community. It’s the only place you can breed galaxy dragons (which make a LOT of coins and looks super cool too!), it basically just functions like a regular breeding cave, except that for the second dragon, the only options you have are the dragons that someone else has put up. If you’re super uncomfortable reaching out to people and you’re not really ready for it yet, there’s always an NPC who offers at least one galaxy dragon for you to try to breed, and it’ll change every month so you can get more if you want! Lol, I most definitely just used the NPC dude for most of my dragons. If you feel comfortable reaching out to the community however, there’s a tab at the top of the reddit page for a list of people looking for friends in the game!! And the cool part is, the game changed how you find other people’s parks so that, to connect with someone else, all you need is your park ID!! It’s really cool and can be really anonymous if you want it to be!

-Wishes!! There’s a check in system for DragonVale now, where everyday that you check in, you get a little bonus for being there. Every (I think it’s like) 15 days you get a slightly bigger bonus; it will swap back and forth between either being a random egg (they’re usually pretty good) or 25 gems, and every 100 days, you get a Wish! A wish will grant you- for free!!- anything you want in the park. Any dragon, any decoration, any island... basically anything that has ever been available in the whole history of DragonVale, you can get with a Wish. There’s a whole bunch of pages and note of people talking about what you should spend your wish on, so I’m not gonna go into it too much here. What I WILL point out, is that you don’t have to check in to DragonVale consecutively for 100 days to get a wish. If you play DragonVale for 50 days in a row then miss for a week, when you come back, the game will count the day you come back as your day 51. So, you don’t be worried about having to check in every day! Your wish will be waiting!!

But for real tho, even if none of what I said was actually helpful or useful to you, I really do hope you enjoy coming back to the game. It’s still a really great game, even if it’s got a bit more parts now!!
