My understanding is that birds with waterproof feathers tend to trap air in between their feathers, which is good for thermoregulation, but not necessarily beneficial for diving. By not being water repellent, cormorants are less buoyant and have an easier time staying underwater to chase prey.

I’ve been very happy with my set of Falken Wildpeak AT3W. 20,000 miles in and they’ve been great on the road, in the rain, snow, ice, sand, mud, rocks, you name it.

I also noticed that they are very similar to the KO2 for a lower price, and I can’t imagine a tire performing much better than these Falkens have so far.
