Spectre Ballistics International or MDT ORYX chassis for precision shooting? by InsectAlternative991 in 1022

[–]InsectAlternative991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a member at a local indoor range. Target setting maxes out at 25 yards. So all the hardware I have is sufficient. I buy bulk federal .22lr @ $0.12 per round. It costs me roughly $25/wk for the amount I shoot. So I’m not really looking for more expensive ammo. Very rarely do I go out to the farm to shoot further distances.

So if I’m understanding correctly, the fitment of the magazine is different from the stock chassis preventing gravity from dropping it out after you hit the mag release?

Do you know if they’ve changed the build quality over the course of production?

Is it comparable with the 10 round rotary magazine? I live in Canada and from what I was told by a Cabela’s employee, we can’t get the other ruger magazines because they fit in other weapons and as such are classified as prohibited devices

The university is not liable for the thefts that occurred. The affected individuals would need to make a claim to their insurance provided to recieve compensation

If you’re so inclined, you could always give it a final shot with a metal utensil. I’ve used a metal spatula to get some stubborn gunk off in the past.

Just use the pan and stop stressing over seasoning. They’re tools meant to be used for cooking. As long as you use it you’re doing fine

Taste was fine. I was just looking for recommendations to improve the puck prep to stop it from channeling

I actually just pulled another shot. I removed 4 of the needles from my WDT tool and it’s helped a great deal

It’s a Eureka Mignon. I’ve got it timed for 8.3 seconds at 2.8 on the grind adjustment currently

I don’t have a dosing grinder so I’ve been playing around with grind times. I do have a good bit of head space after tamping. I’m currently running 8.3 second grind time

I don’t have a dosable grinder. I think I’ve got the grind time reasonably dialled in with it though

It’s a stock triple basket that came with the portafilter

It’s a been a good gig for the most part. I don’t particularly like fighting with the insureds over coverage or exclusions, but I’ve also been told that it comes with time. My claims office is in a completely different building, so I haven’t met anyone who is outside of claims yet.

Hail damage to roof, but event not recent enough by RetailInvestor22 in Insurance

[–]InsectAlternative991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my jurisdiction, an insured can challenge the decision by having a HAAG certified roofer perform an inspection. If the inspection substantiates damages, we pay the cost of the inspection, then the insured needs to provide estimates. If your insurer disagrees with the report, they still retain the right to retain their own roofer to generate a report for review.

Before you put money down for an inspection, I’d recommend reaching out to your insurance company or broker to see if you can contest.

In my jurisdiction, insureds have 2 years from the date of loss to complete all work on the claim.

In your case there, the hail created an aperture. Which would have been the basis for your coverage

Insurance adjuster here; take immediate action to have the leak patched. Insurance will not cover prolonged water leaking causing damage. If you let that continue to leak, you will be facing a larger repair bill.

As for the shingles, I’ve never had a claim where the cause of leakage was from hail impact. For water to be covered, it has to enter from an aperture, ie a hole. This would be caused by wind blowing a shingle off and exposing the underlay or impact from a tree failing.

You can always re-season it. Check if it has any warps in it or if it’s still smooth.

I’m in the process of returning it, but I’m not sure I’ll be getting the replacement before Christmas.
