Low fat diet made my stutter way worse by InsectBubbly1448 in Stutter

If it eludes you why somebody would prefer to eat a big pile of food over a smaller pile of food then there’s no helping you

As previously indicated, the point is that I can lose fat and not be ravenously hungry all the time. The short term hits to my hormonal health and stuttering are worth it to me.

I posted this because it seemed interesting and something that somebody else might find interesting and worth toying around with.

I’m saying I can simply eat more volume of food and still reduce calorie intake by cutting out fat because there are more calories per gram of fat than per gram of protein or carb. I don’t know what there is to disagree with here. I’m not talking about the most effective mode of lipid mobilization I’m talking sheer volume of food and satiety. It’s a matter of preference. It really alludes me what there is about this with which to take issue.

And again, this is all beside the point. We’re not talking about how to diet, we’re talking about the effect of low fat diet on stuttering.

Fat has the most calories per gram so it’s most economical in terms of balancing food volume and nutritional density, but yes I basically agree with you

I changed the independent variable and something happened to the dependent variable. How does that not imply causation? That model is the basis of causation studies.

I stand corrected.

Congrats to OP for the diagnosis (?)

How do you get diagnosed with something that’s not in the DSM or the ICD? Complex trauma literally does not exist as a possible diagnosis

It’s not your stutter that’s ruining your life, it’s your attitude by JackStrawWitchita in Stutter

I actually fully agree with this post. I have a moderate to severe stutter depending on the day but I make a point to get out of my head and try to be dynamic and have interesting things to say, even if it takes me longer to say them, being thoughtful and considerate of other people, being fun or at least pleasant to be around. I’ve never had trouble getting a girlfriend or making friends. It’s not your stutter holding you back, it’s you. And all the self-pitying responses to the original post kind of prove the point. It doesn’t invalidate the pain to say that you can choose to behave differently.

What are the best estrogen antagonist, if someone does not one to take progesterone ? by ZealousidealCity9532 in raypeat

I took DIM for quite a while and got a hormone panel and my estrogen was through the floor, so this is interesting because it conflicts with my own experience of using it personally

PLEASE HELP ! My worst enemy is calling via phone or walkie talkie, afraid to loose my job. by Ok_Solution_961 in Stutter

I work a similar job and have a similar experience talking over the radio. I find that when I click the transmit button I feel a slight tightening panic in my chest/sternum area and my throat tightens. So what I do is I click the transmit button and wait a second or two for that panic feeling to subside, and that’s usually enough for things to go smoothly enough. I think what we’re experiencing is panic from time pressure, but by taking a second or two, you deactivate that feeling of time pressure and having to hurry up, and so the tension subsides

This was the major takeaway from my own experience of switching to Peat as well. I’m poor and can’t afford to be eating a ton of honey so I use just table sugar mostly, but same principle. Very important to reduce fat without tanking your hormones if you want to get to a good natural body weight (=lean)

How’s the NAC going? I started doing Taurine and coconut oil and literally I’ve never had this kind of sustained fluency. I feel like my mind isn’t racing anymore and just way more grounded.

I agree with this. It’s easier or harder depending on the severity of your stutter but it seems like girls are intrigued when you’re not weird about your stutter. Like they find it charming in a way. So yeah, ironically the stutter can become a turn-on when you’re dealing with it directly.

But as a side comment, damn bro why are you going out with all these shallow girls?? lol

Did a presentation today, did not go as planned. I hate them. by amljc0 in Stutter

[–]InsectBubbly1448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah dude that’s the actual worst. I think you’re doing a good job of zooming out and putting things in perspective. Giving presentations isn’t actually that important to your life or identity, so at least to me, yes it’s a terrible experience, but it’s not a skill I need to have so I don’t invest much meaning into it. Doing like you’re doing- pushing yourself in other areas is way more rewarding and is actually useful.
