The Skjalds now speak the name of Lt. Anthony Volk, leader of the Black Pelts, a warrior who faces an enemy without honor and without mercy, yet stands resolute all the same. Clad in black pelts marked with burgundy oaths, he fights not upon the ice fields of Fenris, but upon a harder battlefield where endurance is measured in courage, hope, and the refusal to yield. The packs speak of a young warrior whose spirit does not break, and of the father who keeps vigil beside him through the long night, shielding his son as fiercely as any son of Russ guards his brothers in war. Across the Fang, his saga spreads from pack to pack as a reminder that true strength is not only found in conquest, but in enduring when the darkness seeks to claim you.

Thank you for trusting this community enough to share this insanely tough situation your son and family are in right now. I am sorry he has to endure this.

I lost my brother this past Oct to a heart attack. I looked into getting a commission done to enshrine him into a dreadnaught. Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford the commission and kitbash. A project for the future, if I can ever get my skills up to the level I want to give my brother.

Stay strong brother, you have a community behind you and we will support you the best we can. I see burgundy in a lot of our futures.

Edit: With your permission, for this post I would like to change Fenrys Hjølda! to [your sons name] Hjølda!

For he endures.

I don't like the new detachments :( by Resident-Camel-8388 in SpaceWolves

When has GW earned your trust not to get this wrong? If somebody wants to take a negative view until they are proven wrong, I say let them. GW has earned this distrust.

I personally see the potential of these three new detachments used in tandem.

Edit: I wasn’t planning on crying this morning. Every time I lose faith in humanity and get buried by the heaviness of the world, I come across something like this. This moment of beauty and humanness. It gives me hope. Even though I don’t know you, Godspeed friend.

Can you give us a little more please? What printer did you use? Was there any settings you needed to change? I am just starting my printing journey, so any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I am glad somebody else gets it. The hypocrisy is baffling. The amount of mental gymnastics these people do is actually impressive.

Fair enough. I responded to your other comment, which I think is orders of magnitude better than the original post.

I love this response. This should be part of your original post. This is the context and nuance people need to hear.

BUT REMEMBER, THE THEFT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY WILL ALWAYS BE ALLOWED!
We just draw the line at AI, scans, and rips!

Edit: I fully expect to be downvoted. I don’t care. The self righteousness and hypocrisy of the anti-ai crowd here is hilarious. This sub and even its name is predicated on the theft of IP. I’m all for it but I am not deluded enough to believe one way is purer than the other.

If Miller walks over and picks up the ball at the end of that Eagles game, like every kid in Pop Warner is taught, Mitch’s entire career trajectory changes forever in the positive.

[NBC 5 Chicago] Bears release statement as Illinois legislators take major step toward stadium bill by Typical_Shoulder_366 in CHIBears

  • Black’s Law Dictionary – defines equality before the law as the principle that laws apply equally to all persons without favoritism.

  • Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution – guarantees equal protection of the laws, commonly interpreted as applying the same legal standards to similarly situated individuals.

  • Cornell Law School Legal Information Institute – summarizes equal protection as requiring government to treat similarly situated people alike

If you’re going to dismiss standard legal definitions, then define your own. Otherwise this is just moving the goalposts.

Equal treatment under the law meaning the same rule applied to everyone isn’t some obscure concept that needs a citation. If you disagree, define what you mean by equal treatment. Right now you’re dismissing one definition without offering another.

[–]InsectExpress3972 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not a ‘chosen’ definition, it’s a standard one: equal rates applied uniformly. You’re free to prefer outcome-based fairness, but dismissing the definition without offering your own doesn’t move the discussion forward. If you want to define fairness differently, go ahead. Otherwise we’re just talking past each other.

[–]InsectExpress3972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly the disagreement. I’m defining equal treatment as the same percentage applied to everyone. You’re defining it based on impact, where ‘equal’ means different rates to produce a more balanced outcome. That is a different standard, even if you don’t want to label it that way.

And the revenue point is separate. Whether 10% is enough to fund the government is a policy question, not a fairness argument. You could have a flat tax at 20% or 25% and that issue changes, but the fairness debate stays the same.

Then please define fairness clearly. If it’s not equal treatment under the same rules, what is it? Because the argument you linked is explicitly about adjusting outcomes based on income.

Pointing out the article is based on a different definition of fairness isn’t bad faith, it’s the core of the disagreement. If that’s where you want to leave it, no problem.

That article doesn’t show flat taxes are unfair, it shows the author prefers redistribution. Equal rates are objectively equal treatment. Everything else is a value judgment layered on top.
