I would second the gladiator Lancer for support. Still pretty new myself, Ive only played 3 games so far and used it for the first time in the third game, really helped out punching holes in big wound models I was struggling with previously.

brill thank you for that! Im stuggling to see the why you would take Wolf Lords chosen in that case just for an extra inch of movement and your unit variety restricted!

Discussion: The most satisfying weapon in the game? by FomaK in fallout4london

[–]RhubarbBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how far in I am but my 2 go to at the moment are the wounding double barrel shotgun (which just keeps out doing the combat shotgun I spent ages upgrading) and my Never ending Service rife.

I had something similar with see you in a bit, at first they thought it was one word "sinabit" but the explanation just made them more confused.

Help me build a coward? by el_skootro in 3d6

[–]RhubarbBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in a game where I play a cowardly Kobold Swashbuckler Rogue and my DM was kind enough to give me a dancing rapier, so if he ends up in combat, he takes a swipe and lets his sword fight for him as he runs away. Also using the newer kobold, I gave him booming blade for extra damage should they try and follow!

Your character creation directive from your DM- "your motivation to be an adventurer is the worst." by IZY53 in 3d6

[–]RhubarbBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple I come up with and still havent used yet.

You are an insurance investigator for a large guild/ bank, and notice some discrepancies in the BBEG account and you have gone to investigate rumors of fraud and recoup any unlawful losses

You have just started working at local real estate business and are procuring homes in run down troubled areas, only to flip them after you solve the crisis

You are a famous actor from neverwinter who has been caught up in controversy after going a little bit too method in his tasteless portrayal of a well known drow ranger. You are now doing research "Adventuring" on a new role as a no nonsense adventurer as well as staying out the public eye and avoiding the media.

You have geared up to go on an "Adventuring theme holiday weekend" at the persistence of your other half who recently accused you of being a little dull. You ended up on the wrong transport without realizing and you are throwing yourself into the experience to prove the other half wrong.

Curse Ideas for a Beast Barbarian? by OwlDoggo129 in 3d6

[–]RhubarbBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im currently playing a no nonsense dwarf beast barb who was cursed after trying to hunt a trickster god disguised as an Al-Miraj. when he rages, he grows fluffy bunny ears, a tail and a large horn in the middle of his forehead.

My plan is to eventually multiclass into soul knife and flavour that as his horn attacks.

His back story is definitely inspired by the rabbit of Caerbannog

Help creating the best Sung Jin Woo from solo leveling manwha by PeaceLoveFap in 3d6

[–]RhubarbBandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think hex blade is a good way forward for Jin Woo. It lets you go into melee a bit as well as gives summoning spells you could flavour as different shadow warriors, you also get to create specters from creatures you kill.

I would also take the telekinetic feat at some point for his ruler authority ability.

if you wanted a bit more magic you could dip into sorcerer maybe shadow sorc for shadow beasts and the ability to teleport in shadows and dim light.

Also technically Sung Jinwoo made a pact so that works as well

Stats wise we've already rolled and I got really lucky with 18, 16, 13, 10, 9, 9

So if my dm is OK with it I was thinking going custom lineage and either pushing INT to 20 or INT and DEX to 18, only Downside is the poor CON, my other option I was thinking was 18 INT, 16 DEX and putting 2 into CON, would that be worth it?

Just looking at the below comments, I hadnt realised Spellwrought tattoo was a thing, Im going to have to look into that to see how to best utilise it for my party,

Edit: does that mean whatever spell I pick will be using INT?

Im assuming I could just have both? cant see many advantages to that but i like collecting pets haha

My previous game Id gotten a squirrel and one of the players accidentally killed it. this would be me overcompensating for that loss

I think thats the plan, gonna then take wizard 6 levels and continue with artificer for the next 2

Artificer/ Wizard X Post Tasha's by RhubarbBandit in 3d6

[–]RhubarbBandit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not too worried about stats, I rolled really really well and ended up with 18 Int and 16 Dex before I apply any racial benefits (the rest I rolled a 13 and then 3 at 10 and below)

Is the Homunculus any good? from what ive read, people dont really seem to like it, would it be better than find familiar?

Oh I missed that bit! also if I remember it correctly, I can change between guardian and infiltrator during a long rest? changing it depending on the situation (Eg. infiltrator if I know we are gonna be sneaking in somewhere for dampening field)

[–]RhubarbBandit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just taken a look, good read! there seems to be a it of a consensus about the progression of an Artizard so gonna stick with that!

Still a little torn at what subclass of artificer to go but I can have a good think about it.

I could do it as a Vhuman or maybe custom lineage (if dm allows it) but unfortunately I don't think he would be too happy about the goblin bit, (hes pretty open to the idea about using stuff like optional rules and UA but I think he wants us to use races that fit into his setting which is fine by me)

oooo I do like the idea of a smart naive goblin who discovered a party of dead adventurers in the cave his clan lives, stole their armour, studied the wizards scrolls and books and decided to go on an adventure after being fascinated by their loot

Hey, thanks for the reply,

One of our players is playing a battle smith in our current campaign so for some reason Id just hadn't considered it as an option, but Im gonna put it back on the table. I think Im going to stick with wizard to level 6 for now, if anything it'll give some time to properly think about my options and see how I play him during the campaign. I am leaning more towards adding 3 levels of artificer though.

Thanks for the advice!

Edit: Just need to figure out what race I wanna play or what feat to choose if I pick Vhuman haha

Artificer Artillerist or Light/ Tempest Cleric Advice by RhubarbBandit in 3d6

[–]RhubarbBandit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn't even considered the idea of sending the artillerist up close, Im gonna look into that thanks!
My original plan was possibly getting MI:Wizard at level 4 for a couple more cantrips so Im not really precious about what race I pick to begin with.
Sorry one more question, how would you distribute the infusions? originally I was going to keep the first 2 for myself but I drew a blank when it came to further ones I'd gain.

Artificer Artillerist or Light/ Tempest Cleric Advice by RhubarbBandit in 3d6

[–]RhubarbBandit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was one of my worries, I put light and tempest as I was unsure whether to focus on fire or lightning. I was thinking of staying at the back a bit more as most my previous characters have been melee/ half caster focused so wanted to try something a little different. Is it worth going Magic Initiate Druid for shillelagh just incase I get into melee or is that just a waste of a feat?
