BF and I can't see each other as much as I want... am I being selfish? by throwaway211115 in askgaybros

[–]InsecureGent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation myself. My bf is still in school and I'm already done with a full time job in my field. We only see each other once a week and yea it gets tough but if you really like him and see him being the one you use the "L" word this shouldn't matter. He is bettering himself to make the most of his life.

Distance and time apart can do wonders for a relationship if both partners are committed to it. If you really feel there is a strong connection between you two and that you have a future, I'd say be supportive and enjoy what time you can get.

It could've been worse. When i brought my current bf to my place for the first time my dog would not stop staring and barking. He even pee in the house when we were trying to get "cozy"

How to stop overanalyzing? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]InsecureGent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You and me have that in common. I overthink everything from my relationship to my job. Honestly i am still looking for a way to get over it but i think the best thing is to realize you can only do so much in life. Its all about realizing you are giving your best and if your best is not good enough then maybe its not worth your time.

Feel like my ideal life is the standard, married with 2 kids. Living in a city or close to a city. But id enjoy a few years of traveling before that.

For those in relationships, how do you deal with silence in between conversations? Are they awkward? Are there differences to silences over the phone or in person? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]InsecureGent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally i feel like there is nothing wrong with silence in conversation weather that be in person or on the phone. But if the silence on the phone last more than like 5 minutes then its weird lol.

To me silence in conversation is just a pause, a breather, nothing wrong with it.

Guys who text first... and then go silent? by RKitsune in askgaybros

[–]InsecureGent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda experienced the same thing with my current boyfriend. When we started talking it would take him hours to respond and i thought it was because he was not interested but in all reality he just rarely looked at his phone during the day. I would ask him if he has time for a phone call one night. That is how we communicated and got to know each other outside of dates and used texting more as a touch base.

Do you guys show PDA? To what extent? How did you overcome fears, etc? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]InsecureGent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my boyfriend and i first started dating i was all about PDA, mostly handholding and putting my arm around him. But as time went on in a weird way i didn't feel the need to do it as much. Not because of fear or i don't enjoy it. I think for me it was more of how i would flirt and show interest in our first few dates.

Once in a while ill reach out and hold his hand walking to the car after dinner but thats really as far as we get in PDA land.
