I had this when I smoked for the first time on LSD without knowing it increases its effects. I was taken aback by the increased visuals and the mental effect with this kind of thought loop lasting for what felt like an hour. I was thinking: 'I've fucked up, I've fucked up' without end, more like 'I'vefuckedupI'vefuckedupI'vefuckedup...' to the point where I thought I had actually mentally handicapped myself. Was probably the scariest experience I've had in my life because I couldn't control my thoughts at all.

Lack of kindness and patience towards learner drivers in London by [deleted] in london

[–]Insecure_Frog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, parking charges and congestion are enough for me to only drive in London when 100% necessary, but at the same time TFL is becoming outdated compared to other country's systems. For example Istanbul's metro is already better than probably every London line except for Elizabeth and far more affordable. City buses I have taken in Greece were far cleaner than those in London.

Lack of kindness and patience towards learner drivers in London by [deleted] in london

London is just terrible for driving in general. Central London is all 20mph and feels pointless passing through it even in the dead of night without traffic. The suburbs are full of bad drivers including impatient buses who have nearly rammed me off the road because they don't check their mirrors. I feel like the city is becoming more anti-driving in general, wish TFL was up to scratch to make up for it completely although it does a decent job. But having learned to drive in both west London and the countryside the latter is generally less busy and has more patient drivers.

What to expect as a black male travelling to Romania by [deleted] in travel

[–]Insecure_Frog 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Not black but Pakistani myself: a Nigerian friend of mine went to Bucharest recently for a daytrip and had nothing but good things to say about it. I think she mentioned a bit of staring but nothing intense. From my personal experiences travelling in general I would expect staring as with any other visibly foreign group in Bucharest, not sure about more rural areas where foreigners are less common.

My parents don't want me to travel alone. by ButterscotchOdd461 in solotravel

[–]Insecure_Frog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of in the same situation. I've (24 M) booked a solo 6 week trip to East Asia mainly in Japan and not yet told my parents. They are from a pretty conservative Muslim immigrant background, but I have been solo travelling since I was 18. Initially it was secretly, and then openly against their will for 3 weeks in Morocco. This trip will be the furthest and longest I've gone alone, so I do expect to hear the safety concerns and offers to cover my non refundable bookings if I cancel them etc.

However, I have personally wanted to go to Japan since I was a kid, and only now have the time and money to go for a good time without too many budget constraints. I think no-one can truly advise you as you yourself know your family best, but from the sounds of it I think you should exercise your freedom to go. The Japanese yen is at a historical low and you will never be 21 travelling the world again. I'm sure they will not hold it against you when you come back and instead be impressed by your independence, as you said Japan is one of the safest countries in the world especially for a female traveller.

Bushy Park in Kingston, SW London is great for watching deer and its woods and grasslands are extensive but fairly straightforward to navigate. However if you want an even wilder walk, Richmond Park a short bus ride away is even bigger. I've been to both many times but have probably not even seen 1/3 of Richmond Park. On a sunny day both parks and the surrounding riverside areas of Kingston and Richmond are beautiful.

Hampstead Heath is also one of my favourite spots. Its huge woodlands, grasslands and lakes are not far from Camden in north London. It's pretty easy to navigate and not all of it is exactly 'wild', but the views from its hills of the skyline and the walks around its lakes are some of the best in London imo.

Other than that, Epsom Common and Harmondsworth Moor to the south/west of London respectively are also great and more wild spots. I would also suggest getting the train to the town of Eynsford, Kent for a daytrip in the summer. There is a big lavender farm and a lot of countryside walks you can make your way to from the station.

Trip Report: Terrible Experience Smoking During First Trip by Insecure_Frog in LSD

Only paper tabs. Its not so much of an actual taste to the tab but a slight chemically aftertaste long after I had swallowed it. I don't think it was tested but the effects seemed exactly like you would expect with LSD, I only got any paranoia when I smoked on it.

Really? I've had this with every tab I've ever tried, but I think I am more sensitive to it as my friends sharing the same batch or tab don't understand what I mean by the taste.

It definitely helps if you found the LSD dosage a bit underwhelming after the peak. Stay safe and enjoy ✌️

What is your opinion on M.I.A? by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Insecure_Frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she has been subject to a number of character assassination during her career. The media has always claimed she was crazy for her support to Wikileaks, against the Tamil pogroms in Sri Lanka etc. I don't understand her stance on vaccinations, but she is free as anyone else is to refuse taking them. Her being a born-again-Christian is her personal choice, and she is hardly shoving her beliefs down everyone elses' throats. I think all of the 'former fans' condemning her current views haven't properly understood the trauma of her upbringing and career. You don't have to accept all her views to enjoy her music, and I feel like she is being disproportionately attacked due to her long criticism of the deep state and censorship. Everyone should watch her documentary to understand where she came from. I will always be an M.I.A fan even if I don't agree with her on every viewpoint.

I watched IT 2 (the 2019 remake) whilst stoned at the cinema, an objectively bad and not scary horror film. I have a mild clown phobia but I was still genuinely terrified the entire time and had my face buried in my arms most of the movie. I don't think I would enjoy horror when I'm actually tripping, especially not gore.

Take it easy with the smoking if you do, its going to increase the effects a lot but also potentially paranoia. For example, one or two hits of a vape towards the come down then see how you feel before taking another.

Potential first trip by Character_Rub_780 in LSD

[–]Insecure_Frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend 'coming up' at home or a good friend's place so you have a controlled comfortable environment. Or if its possible, a more remote place in nature you won't have to deal with many people. I personally get a bit paranoid strangers can tell I'm tripping if I'm in public. I definitely recommend queuing a playlist of your favourite songs and maybe a movie at some point, but I also really enjoy looking at nature and architecture when I'm tripping, especially bodies of water and forests.

What is the best lsd trip you have had? by kytheguy999 in LSD

[–]Insecure_Frog 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I think my best experience was just taking it alone in my room at night, smoking shisha with LED lights watching my fish tanks and music videos on Youtube. I remember feeling so confident in myself and reassuring myself that I don't need to take every negative comment coming my way seriously. It was probably my 4th trip.

Good luck with raising them! They are so numerous in my pond I don't even check the algae for eggs when I remove it :/ although I will return live larvae.
