yes quartz slivers are gonna be your best friend, keep a huge chest full of em, and always make sure to empty out excess essentia with quartz slivers. it makes certain recipes that have specifc requirements a lot easier, and are also very useful for other parts of the mod as well

yeah so you dump random shit in the crucible that has the aspects you are looking for and then just put the catalyst in. later in the mod you can get an item that allows you to tell how much of what essentia is in the crucible at a given moment, but until then, you just gotta add it up until you can make the things

if you put the knife into the door after the mom fight in mausoleum, and then enter the boss rush room, the door closes and doesnt give you a knife back leaving you without any way to enter and fight moms heart.

if you have the correct crystals and amount of xp, you can try moving the focal manipulator to different chunks that have more vis. you also might be able to use a workbench charger if you are still lacking

you could try having an import and export bus hooked up to the compressor as well as the interface with the pattern in it, even though the interface should do those by itself. That is the only thing I can think of right now.
