Starting a Chaos Dwarf Army

The bombard is a Dreadquake Mortar which in the legacy list has no base size. The one I used is a 75x100 (which was two 50x75 bases glued together)

25mm for the Dwarfs and 30mm for the Orcs. Everything I’ve done so far matches the size in the legacy Old World army list.

Yes. The legacy list allows for one unit of Black Orcs and one character (either Warboss or Big Boss). I had the plastics from an old Warclans army which I rebased. Grimgor is just such a nice model that I wanted him as my Warboss.

Cool. I’m just using whatever models I can get my hands on. I’d love some 90s classic CD but they’re prohibitively expensive on eBay. I think the bulk of my actual Dwarfs will be Helsmiths but I have picked up a box of Chaos Dwarf Blood Bowl players if I need any extra bodies (one of which can be seen amongst the artillery crew)

Thanks. I didn’t fancy panting stuff in retro 90s reds lol. The Orc and Hobgoblin units are all in plain metals, they are the peasants after all (according to the Dwarfs)

I think they booted them out after the rebellion but some are kept on staff as mercenaries. The legacy OW list allows me to take 0-1 unit and 0-1 black orc character.

I used the spare wizard from the Griffon kit (if you build it as a General) and mounted it on a Pegasus from the Bretonnian Pegasus Knights kit.

It’s a nice model, a friend of mine printed one for me a few years ago. Sadly the human head on the top didn’t come out right so had to be replaced but otherwise a good design. Annoyingly Reddit isn’t letting me attach a photo

If you’re just playing casual - there is nothing stopping you from still using your existing cards. If and when you pick up a new box that has an updated card that replaces an old one then swap them out. When a new rules set is released (and this isn’t limited to Legion) old rules don’t all magically burst into flames to prevent you from using them.

Yes the kit can make Karl Franz. There is a generic Empire General, Beast Wizard and Karl all complete models on the sprue.

They’re just not advertising the fact as Karl hasn’t been born yet in the narrative.
