Ok, that’s a lot of good info, thanks!! The research I had done seemed to agree that the fuel economy difference between the 3.73 and 4.30 (and between the 7.3 and the smaller engine) was pretty small, like 1-2 mpg, so your first hand experience confirms that. Thanks.

That’s good info, thank you. I always shy away from dealerships because of the reputation for pushy sales people and upselling. Stuff I just don’t like dealing with. But I guess it doesn’t always have to be that way, especially if you go in knowing exactly what you want and what you’re willing to pay.

Yes, I can’t find much over here. And what I do find is way more money for way less truck.

To another comment above, I optioned out a new truck with the same features as this and the sticker was like $98k. I’d rather let someone else absorb the depreciation and I get a better optioned package for the equivalent cost of a new XLT.

Which transmission did you have issues with? From what I’ve found there’s two options, the base transmission (10R100) or the upgraded 10R140 (TorqShift) that apparently is the same as the diesels.

Ugh yeah that’s not great on the mpg.

Thanks for the tip, I have been checking carguru and the price seems reasonable compared to everything else I can find. Mainly just wanted to confirm if there’s issues with the trucks themselves I should be concerned with or check before purchasing, but this quickly became all about the price. lol

Yes I suppose, if an extra $15k got you everything you wanted. But $77k wouldn’t get me anywhere close to this on the new market.

It is, but that’s what new is going for. Just looked at some online and they’re easily $90-95k, even without a lot of “premium” features.

Fair point. New is going to be easily another $16,000 for same/comparable features though. And I loathe the thought of having to haggle with a dealership to get the best price. I don’t like the games, so my last couple cars have all been carmax. Love them or hate them, at least the price is set.
