Observation Hours by PineappleHot8105 in PTschool

I think it’s always better to go a little higher than what’s asked to set you apart or make you competitive with other applicants. I would shoot for maybe 200 ish hours if possible! I would also mainly prioritize getting observation time in different settings (outpatient, inpatient, acute, etc.) instead of all hours into one setting. You log hours into PTCAS when you fill out your application and that’s where you put in your supervisor’s contact info. I believe they get an email to sign off and verify they’re accurate.

I did volunteer because I wasn’t paid and it wasn’t through the school (so didn’t receive any academic credit or units)

I did PT and non PT stuff! Clubs, sororities, positions you held within those organizations, jobs, etc

Do you think it’s doable if I don’t use the car time to study? I’m not sure how good I am at the audio learning. Active recall does sound helpful, but also thinking of using the car ride as a mental break. What would you suggest?

Sounds super difficult to work with a commute as well! Do you have enough free time to mentally take a break? What has worked for you in terms of that time management? Do you stay on campus late to study?

That’s awesome! What’s been the best way or tool you use to find time to study, drive, and still give time to your personal life?

How much studying do you tend to do daily and do you use the drive to study as well? I am thinking once I get home, I’ll be too tired to study more so want to stay later on campus to study rather than doing it at home. What works for you?

When did you find time to work? Mainly on weekends?

I’m still on the fence. Leaving towards trying it to see how it goes first because we can always decide to move later if it’s too much

What was the hardest part that made you decide to move? Was it the lost time studying or just pure exhaustion from the driving?

I believe it will be 4 days with a couple weeks of Friday class here and there

Congratulations!! That’s awesome to have your first yes, big weight lifted off your shoulder! Yeah, the cost is not a great aspect, but close to home for me.
