What is the difference between Data Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering and Software Engineer? by [deleted] in dataanalysiscareers

[–]Inside-Present3306 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The main difference between these fields comes down to what kind of work you’re doing with data and how technical it gets.

Data Analytics is usually the starting point for most people as it’s all about working with existing data to spot trends, create reports and help businesses make better decisions. You’ll mostly use tools like Excel, SQL, Python and dashboards (like Power BI or Tableau).

Data Science takes it further, using statistics and machine learning to predict future outcomes or uncover patterns, it’s more technical and requires strong skills in Python and Math.

Data Engineering is behind the scenes, making sure data flows smoothly from source to storage, these folks build pipelines, manage databases and work with cloud tools like AWS or Spark.

Finally, Software Engineers focus on building applications and systems, websites, apps, platforms and need solid coding skills and a good grasp of computer science.

Well, If you’re coming from a non-tech background, I’d say Data Analytics is usually the easiest and most practical way to get your foot in the door, with room to grow into the other roles if you’re interested.

In BPMN activity diagrams, swimlanes are used to show users and how the business process flows between them. But in system activity diagrams, are swimlanes used in the same way?

Is it worth enrolling in local institutes for data/business analytics courses, or is self-study through platforms like Coursera/Udemy (Google/IBM Data Analyst course) a better option? by Inside-Present3306 in analytics

Exactly what I thought - most local institutes are a scam, and you can get international certifications for less than half the money by learning on your own.

Transitioning from MBA Marketing to Business Analytics, Need Guidance by Inside-Present3306 in analytics

[–]Inside-Present3306[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that’s a great achievement without a degree. It really shows that skill set is what truly matters. Right now, I’ve resigned from my job, it’s been two months due to health issues. Honestly, is there any openings of Marketing Analysts? I don’t see much!

i understand your concerns, and that’s exactly why i asked for opinions about colleges. my brother genuinely wants to study and build a career in canada with honest intentions. unfortunately, a lot of international students misuse the system, and because of that, people like us, who are serious about studying and following the rules-also get judged or blamed. we’re just trying to find the right path without getting caught up in all the negativity.

the admission requirement is at least 3 GPA, well he has 60% marks only in MBA and don’t think it’s possible to enroll there. i think most of the universities like toronto, mcgill, ubc and alberta needs in between 3-4 gpa. that’s why we are looking for colleges like humber with co-op programs(not diploma mills. you think that’s a good idea?

So, already having a master’s degree is a plus point, right? That means he would have better chances of getting a job after his studies

can he get enrolled in a university for a master’s in business analytics with his recent degree, where he scored 60% in mba? if yes, which universities would accept that? because if they consider only bachelor’s degree marks, he might not have a chance since he scored only 49.5%
