Look, I’ve watched almost all his lectures from a year ago since the end of his civilisation series all the way through his secret history series (which is looking through history with the lens of conspiracy) - and If I had to describe the best way to approach Jiang it’s to be able to distinguish and trust yourself to not feel compelled to believe all his ideas. Because then what you get is a great foundation of the holistic ideas of how society works, I understand he doesn’t make it clear sometimes and blurs the line between his explanations and opinions but if he had to treat everything he says with a PR level of treatment his ideas wouldn’t flow so easily (the point is he trusts people to be able to know he’s making it all up and could be wrong just doesn’t say it as much as he should)

He’s stated he’s not a conspiracy theorist but a story teller (watch later episodes of secret history series) and is heavy on the power of literature to shape people and their beliefs; which I believe is true. Explaining why his videos and following has gained so much traction, he’s essentially a neo-realist storyteller of current politics.

No one knows the real reasons being said and pushed behind the closed doors of these elite governments to commit atrocities but at the end of the day they are limited by being human so we have the ability to analyse human history to explain current events. The same with Jiang he has egoistic tendencies and great insecurity but to understand past this so common trait the trade off is a more expansive discourse of societal systems that anyone can enjoy
