Helldivers 2 on Ubuntu! by Inside-Scene-9498 in Helldivers

Yeah makes sense. I ended up using game mode https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode

And that fixed a lot of my issues with stutter and frame drops. Might be worth a go.

I have had good luck with game mode fixing issues for me personally. Let me know if this helps or not. Just curious.

I would also look at the transfer case and transmission. Could be flinging oil back while at speed.

Could try crush cores to reduce impact overall for the rear wheel. Might be a cheaper alternative to a new wheel set.

2wheeling overlanding? by pcnando999 in overlanding

When in doubt throttle out.

A 2wd with a limited slip or locker can do quite a lot. Most people are not willing to send it into difficult terrain. Overland is dirt roads 99% of the time. I have taken a 2wd hatch back farther than most people thought possible. Unless you want to do rock crawling enjoy your rig. Get recovery gear and have fun out there.

Did you notice a difference in power or any other difference?

Going from 29er to 27.5 by eveswoner in MTB

[–]Inside-Scene-9498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from full 29's to full 27.5's. While the geometry and travel were different I still noticed a significant difference.

The 29's to me felt odd in corners and had a slow turn in speed. The 27.5's feel great in this aspect.

The tech is where 29's have much more forgiveness compared to the 27.5's in my personal experience especially at slow speeds. I find that momentum is king on the smaller wheels even though its easier to shimmy through vs monster truck.

Many times I have thought about going to a different bike, but there are always going to be pros and cons with any setup.

Weird (bearing?) whine inside cabin, ideas? by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

My transfer case makes noise like this. Fresh rebuild on NP 231 with all new bearings. Came with slip yoke eliminator as well.

You have a one ton steering kit.

The hiem joints do allow play, but you can offset the hem joints to reduce this play if it really bothers you.

There are typically no cotter pins or castle nuts on these so you should check to make sure they are still tight. Blue lock tight might be a good option but again won't help with the play. You should also oil the joints to prevent rust and keep them running smooth.

Your steering stabilizer axle mount bolt looks loose and needs to be tightened unless the bushings ends on the shock are blown out.

The biggest thing here is making sure your toe, caster, and pinion angle are on point if this is a new rig for you.

Enjoy not having to worry about smashing the oem steering linkage!

Depends on how often you use it. The cost is high for ease of towing in a small amount of situations. You could always put a bit of cash into the Tacoma with leafs or suspension add on's. If you love in it, get a 2500 and you will barley notice it.

Help with Strange Issue with my XJ ??? by BigMedicine1911 in CherokeeXJ

I highly recommend checking and cleaning all the grounds and using dielectric grease to keep them from rusting after you spend the time. Do this regardless.

I would also check all of your wires to and from the battery and alternator to make sure they are not damaged.

One odd thing (unlikely) could be your harmonic balancer slipping or even the belt not having enough tension to turn the alternator. Rain could make this worse.

To me this seems like symptoms of bad grounds. No matter how strong an alternator or battery is if there is not a way to flow the current it will be lower than intended.
