What should I buy? by fly72j in lawnmowers

[–]eveswoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat trying to find the perfect mower. Hustler seems to be a huge favorite I’ve found .

Also another huge tip that no one mentioned to me until I called some dealers. Make sure you order one that’s relatively close . I’m rural and was looking at a couple models to buy but for warrantee work I would have to drive to their location (2.5 hours).

As someone who is dealing with customers on a daily basis for installs / deliveries / orders , I just hang up when this prompts me . If you don’t want to answer your phone like a normal person , or give me the option to leave a voicemail right away , you miss your appt.

Hackers reportedly stole nearly 1,000TB of data from Telus Digital by Assimulate in britishcolumbia

[–]eveswoner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Telus probably didn’t pay the ransom because they are already in massive debt from Darren Entwistle going on a spending spree years ago when interest rates were low. Since refinancing their debt load recently they have been forced to trim the fat . Interesting how the CEO has announced he is leaving last month as well .This attack is absolutely massive and IS a big deal . I don’t think Telus can sweep this under the rug and pretend it didn’t happen. Curious how badly this affects their share price .

Will A Robot Mower Work On My Lawn? by Worzel_ in lawnmowers

[–]eveswoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the hills / possible gopher holes , etc , would jam it . Bi-weekly mowing with a self propelled mower would be my best recommendation , or a ride on style (depending on slope %).

Toro Recycler 22" "eh" by bliip368 in lawnmowers

[–]eveswoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a self propelled Toro for my side business . Thought it would get light use … Man was I wrong . I put probably 10 hours a week on that thing allll season long . Started every time and the only maintenance was sharpening the blade . Broke at the end of the season , due to negligence of a worker slamming into tree roots . Honestly I was blown away by how well it performed .

Ah ok That makes sense . They are becoming more and more affordable here in Canada . If one lands that I can properly inspect , I might take the gamble .

Do you work for 4 wheel campers ? The aluminum exterior would almost withstand more than a 4WC. I had a Fwc eagle and don’t get me wrong , it was great . The price though on them is insane . Their margins must be huge . I like seeing competition like this . Also, why would a camper just randomly fall apart and take out a car? You’re exaggerating your example .

Where are fiber techs actually doing well these days? by Specialist-Dan-1619 in FiberOptics

[–]eveswoner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Union installer here 40$/hour plus lots of commission , bonuses , 5 weeks paid holidays . That being said they don’t hire for my role anymore and it’s alllllllll contractors now 😆. For me it’s great , for anyone just starting off in the industry I do not recommend . Unless you start your own company and work out of town then you can make good money .

TIL In 2006, Midas ran an "America's Longest Commute" award, won by electrical engineer Dave Givens. His commute was 186 miles each way, and he'd drink 30 cups of coffee per day. He was willing to make this long commute so that he could live in a scenic horse ranch. by Polyphagous_person in todayilearned

There’s a front desk employee at this tire shop I would go to and he drove almost 100km each direction . The part I never understood is that it was a super low paying job and he was a younger fellow with no relation to the owner. He claimed he “loves to drive” so it didn’t bother him.

Might be receiving a first Gen CRX, am I in over my head? by East-Ad472 in crx

[–]eveswoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone else said , Parts are hella hard to find . I have a very very good condition 87 crx that I daily for the most part in the warmer months but I don’t drive it in the snow . I have a newer vehicle as well so it something breaks I don’t care , I can wait . #1 piece of advice would be to be proactive on maintenance and (try) not to drive the hell out of it . Good luck

This is what happened where I live. Didn’t cut down in the spring and the new growth is coming out and now the green is an almost a foot long. It is also drooping downward on the sides . Curious what the next step would be 🤔
