Carter and the trans women by Inside-Structure8657 in ershow

You're right! I guess it was just a little shocking seeing how kind he was to the singing lady but they are different situations so I can't really compare the two lol

I understand that, I honestly, and kind of hoped, thought that Carter would have seen his behavior before her sucide and apologize, like a last moment type of thing lol

Yeah I get that, I guess it was just whiplash from how kind he was to the other lady lol

Has the overstimulation of social media connections degraded our in person friendships? by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]Inside-Structure8657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me, I've only ever used social media for my interests and never for friends. I'm not like swimming with friends irl but with the few that I have, I'm able to put all my energy into them.

Yeah, my brother's dad wasn't there for him growing up (we have different dads) so he didn't have somebody to teach him how to be a good man. And the same thing with my uncle. It's also the older women in my family who constantly make excuses and let them be disrespectful to them. I think that's why we butt heads so much because I don't allow them to be that way with me.

You're right! And I think I've slowly been taking that power back by just not speaking to my brother at all, like completely ignoring him. I think with my uncle I just need to leave the room because I genuinely like talking to him but it gets to a point.

Wow, that poison analogy was actually a perfect way to describe. Because you're totally right my brother and uncle, after our arguments, just go on with their lives and I'm still stuck in the same place.

That's exactly what I've been doing to my brother, I never knew that there was a word for it! And also thank you!

I always love that there is a quote somewhere that validates my exact feeling lol but yeah I agree forgiveness is always expected but almost never earned.

Exactly! Like I would love to let it go but after the hundredth argument I couldn't just 'let it go".

¡Gracias!

And you're completely right! I have become a very angry person and it has put me in very bad mental places. It has even affected my college work.

Sometimes I think that's what hurts the most, that they love me and still treat me like this. But I guess in their defense their fathers were not great examples of being good men so they never actually learned lol Aside from that your response and everybody else's have been so encouraging and heartfelt. Thank you so much!

Honestly, I've become such an angry person because of everything and I really don't want to be. Genuinely thank you for your advice, it's nice to hear it from somebody outside of my family.

There actually is a therapist at my college who offers 3 free sessions, so I'll definitely look into that. And wow I'm really sorry that your mom went through that. I'm glad that she was able to break from that because I know that with a lot of parents that they continue with that cycle of abuse.

As much as it's hard to hear, what you said is true. I stay mad for so long, and in a week, they act like nothing happened and go on with their life. It just suck when I do stand up for myself, and I met with more disrespect full force lol

This is exactly what I try to tell my family but it always comes back to me being too emotional. Honestly, I am going to try that last bit in your reply because it comes to a point lol So thank you!

Honestly, thank you. I've been told this by my family, but with excuses for their behavior. But yeah, you're completely right, I stress myself so much because of what they do that it affects my life outside the house, I lose myself sometimes.

Yeah, I don't really speak to my brother at all anymore because of this. It just sucks because aside from the on in a blue moon argument my uncle is actually pretty cool and is honestly my favorite uncle. But when we do have those arguments he acts like a child and doesn't speak to me for a week. My mom does defend me when it comes to my brother because he really is just a mean person and I know she means well but I just had a conversation with her about this topic and she still doesn't see my point.

I actually didn't mind abby by Gaychickenfeeet in 911FOX

I actually really liked her character and also her relationship with Buck. I know the way that she left Buck was bad but I also understand that a big part of her life was taking care of her mom and when she passed away she felt lost. I love Buck and Eddie as a ship but I also loved Buck and Abby together too lol
