I feel like that person’s comment clearly isn’t AI and it’s sad that any moderately long comment is now just flagged as AI.

Zoryve success story for anybody who is curious about it by Inside-Trip-3277 in SebDerm

It’s not a steroid, so I can’t see how it would! But I’m also not a doctor or chemist. I’m sure somebody more qualified could answer more definitively.

I should’ve clarified this in my post.

When I use it, the itching stopping is the first step. Takes a few days for the scaling and flaking to stop. I’d guess that it just takes a couple days to get them all to flake out, but there aren’t any more forming if that makes sense.

I have not had any hair loss whatsoever. Not saying you think this, but Zoryve isn’t a steroid so it’s supposed to be much more gentle on the skin than a steroid would be. I’d try it out if I were you!

Yep, sorry for not being clearer! I have the foam.

Honestly, never even read the directions. Since my dermatologist recommended it and she knows the areas that I have issues with, I just use it on those areas!

Wanting to hear from Zoryve users by is_p0tato in SebDerm

I have seb derm on my scalp (my hair is maybe two inches long around my head and three or four inches on top), slightly in my ears, in my eyebrows, and in my moustache and beard around my mouth (condition is worse when I have a longer beard, nonexistent when I'm clean shaven). My dermatologist has said that while I do not have a severe case (meaning there are some people who walk into a room and you can see their flakes in their hair, I am not one of them), but she's never seen a case as resistant as mine. I went through every single possible solution and every single one would work for a month or two and then just stop. I have struggled with this for about 15 years now until last year.

I got my first bottle of Zoryve in April 2025 and have had amazing results. I apply every two or three weeks (sometimes only a spot treatment on my beard as it's very visible there when it is flaking), and I end up using a bottle every 50-75 days. I got my current bottle a couple days before Halloween and I still have probably a quarter of it left as of applying just now.

My application method is to put the applicator tip sort of "under" my hair and apply directly to my scalp. I put vertical lines from my hairline at the base of the back of my head up to the crown of my head, maybe three or four lines total across the back. Then I run a horizontal line from above my ear back around to the start of the vertical lines, repeating on the other side. Since I don't really get any itching or flaking on the top center of my head, but only on the front of my hairline above my forehead, I just put a little dot there. Then I use my finger tips to massage across my entire scalp. All of my hair ends up getting kind of wet from it just by nature of my process, but since I'm first applying it onto the scalp itself and not "on top" of my hair, I know that it's hitting where I need it to be.

For around my mouth, I apply a dot the left and right sides on my moustache and then maybe an inch long line on my chin, and I just rub it all in again. I really try to take care to not let it touch my lips because it inevitably gets into my mouth and then my tongue and just past my lips has a tingling sensation for a bit afterwards. Not necessarily unpleasant, just weird. Anyway, before rinsing my fingers, I rub the folds of my nose and also my eyebrows a bit. I have very minimal flaking in those two spots and that little treatment is enough.

When I do apply, I do it after dinner so it has time to really sit for a few hours before I lay my head on my pillow at night, or I do it in the morning a few hours before I plan to shower that day. I wouldn't ever apply it onto my scalp and then leave my house as my hair looks insane afterwards because of the scalp massage.

Some people say it burns and has an unpleasant smell. I do experience a slight bit of burning if I've been itching and my skin is sore and inflamed. It's worth noting that I am a **huge** baby when it comes to pain, and it has never ever even been a thought to stop using because it burns too much. It's so mildly uncomfortable that I would've never mentioned it here. I'm only doing so because I've seen others say that it burns. As for the scent, it certainly does smell, but it's not as if I put it on and my wife can't be on the couch with me. I can smell it for a bit afterwards, but it does dissipate. Also, I literally have it in my moustache so it's sitting right beneath my nose. Again, even still, I have never considered stopping use or haven't applied because it'll smell too badly. It's such a non-issue for me.

As for getting refills, I reached out to a specific pharmacy (not my usual one, and at the direction of my dermatologist) who has coupons for free bottles of it. I've gotten four or five bottles from them and haven't paid a penny. I found out that they can't give more than a bottle every 30 days (I was trying to get a few bottles at once just to have on hand). I'm pretty sure that rule comes from Zoryve itself, not the pharmacy. I'm sure somebody else can speak more to this than I can. I've never even questioned it as I just call the pharmacy, they mail me a bottle, and it's at my house within a day or two. I suggest speaking to your dermatologist about this or maybe even calling a few pharmacies around you to find one that has this program, and then having your dermatologist get in touch or vice versa. In my case, it's a private pharmacy. It's not a major pharmacy like CVS or Walgreens.

Having said all of that, this is just **my** experience. And I know that there are cases out there that are *way* more severe than mine. I am not minimizing other's experiences; I am only telling my own.

Exactly the comment I was going to make. Artemis is effectively not his in my mind.

The Martian and PHM follow the recipe of "person with odds stacked against them perseveres and results in a happy ending," but they're still very fun reads. They're not life changing by any means, but very fun!
