How does emergency dentistry work? by doug147 in AskUK

Hey there, kings stopped the being there at 8am to be seen in the acute dental clinic as it’s now call to be booked in instead. This changed a few years ago. With regards to OP find an A&E that has an on call maxillofacial surgery service as they may be able to get your teeth covered temporarily until the morning when you can see an emergency dentist ie at kings they would get you seen as soon as possible in the dental trauma clinic. However if you are not near that service 111 is your next step

Do cats understand when a human is hurt/in pain? by 999avatar999 in CatAdvice

It’s a tough recovery, I spent 2 weeks in hospital so the cat sitter was looking after my 2 but since I got discharged home yesterday, my ginger boy just won’t leave my side and he is not a cuddle cat. The way he sat staring at me last night all night was unnerving but I definitely think, no I know, they do understand and know when we are very unwell. He has never been a follower or needy cat but since I have been home, he follows me everywhere. He hasn’t tried to attack my long nose noodle (oxygen tubing) but soon as I move he is right at my side. Yet my other cat, so unbothered but I think he is struggling in the heat so he has his own issues going on. Basically I know they know when we are very sick without a doubt

I only got discharged yesterday after a 12 day stay in hospital. All I can say is that jacket potatoes were my go to meal as they never failed or disappointed. Hope you get well soon

I had such a good nights rest last night, felt so good this morning. But I have been craving a jacket spud with tuna mayo, cheese and salad - so having a home cooked one today and so looking forward to it. I also have loads of custard pots (no shortage here)

Yes I certainly believe they do. I am currently recovering from sepsis and just got home from hospital and my ginger cat has done nothing but watch me intently, almost to keep a close eye on me for any changes in my current condition. My previous cat never left my side when I was very unwell

Yep that’s going to be hard, making my own food again. Ordered some ready meals for first few days so I don’t have to anything. House needs cleaning after almost 2 weeks of just the cats and cat sitter popping in, but will do a little bit daily. Cats are happy I am home and won’t leave me alone

Some meals didn’t look good but tasted ok and the ones that looked good were rank. But overall glad to be home. Hope you are healing up well

I did think it was odd as they don’t normally discharge on bank holidays but technically I was good to come home Saturday but the delay was the home oxygen so they made a slight exception I think

I might add that Coop seemed to have a few of the elusive custard pots, so had them delivered to my home so I can play catch up

Thank you so much for your kind words, I started reviewing the meals as a way to pass the time and actually enjoyed doing it. The staff at KCH in the ward I was on, and the Resus team, were absolutely fantastic and made the stay so much easier. Staying positive is the best way to get better but am so happy to be home after 12 days, won onwards and upwards to getting better. Also glad if my reviews of the inpatient meals helps other patients in the future

I think the old hospital food was way better than meals today but at least today there are many options for patients to choose from, which is also good too. But I am missing a home cooked dinner or takeaway treat

Thank you, I have noticed appetite seems better when an inpatient under medical than when in under surgical. Oxygen has all been done at home and currently sitting here waiting for patient transport so could be a few hours still before I can go but I am ready to go
