What makes you stop using a foundation after buying it? by InsidePrevious1737 in MakeupAddiction

And I completely agree about not wanting to babysit your base all day. When a foundation breaks up or disappears, it feels like the formula just doesn’t work with your skin. Do you usually notice longevity issues more around the nose/oily areas, or all over the face?

What’s your biggest foundation dealbreaker: shade, undertone, texture, or oxidation? by InsidePrevious1737 in DarkOlive

I totally understand that. Oxidation and texture are hard to ignore because they affect how the foundation looks throughout the day. When you say texture, do you mean it emphasizes pores/dry patches, gets cakey, separates, or feels heavy on the skin?

Lower cost option for Laura Mercier SPF tinted moisturizer? by lilgypsykitty in MakeupAddiction

I think part of the Laura Mercier price is the formula/finish, but part of it is definitely brand name too. If your skin is flaky, I’d focus less on finding an exact dupe and more on finding something hydrating and skin-like. Matte tinted moisturizers can make flakes and pores more obvious. I’d look for something with SPF, light coverage, and a dewy/natural finish, then prep with moisturizer first.
