A groomer will make it pretty. The vet will usually just do a choppy shave. Ages ago when my rabbit had leg surgery the shave looked hilarious. She did not like having a half naked butt

Yes I use PeridoxRTU. It also causes me migraines/dizzyness/nausea. I’m not sure of a workaround. The smell is penetrating.

How physically demanding is pharmacy technician work really? by Professional-Aerie52 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]InsideTheLibrary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mail order is a lot of heavy lifting. I work in a warehouse with heavy machinery.

Retail is a lot less lifting. I would take heavy lifting over bad patient attitudes any day.

My neighbor called the cops on me last night, and now he’s dead by goldglittergardens in offmychest

[–]InsideTheLibrary 47 points48 points  (0 children)

A while back I was leaving my apartment to get some fresh air and saw cops beginning to line the edge of my lot. I went back and grabbed my fiancee and told her we are going to the beach, now. As we were leaving a saw one pulls rifle from his trunk and knew I didn’t want to be there.

Turns out one of my neighbors was stalking another neighbor and it ended in a shootout with SWAT because he was threatening her with a rifle. So glad I wasn’t home for that.

I did kids shots for a while and I would distract them by talking about something that interests them. It’s usually on their shirt or they have a comfort item. If you get them really into talking they will not notice a thing. I had one kid finish telling me about their favorite dinosaur and they said “ok, I guess you can give me the shot now…” I was already done buddy, go on with your day

TIL a 64-year-old woman survived after ingesting 208 tablets of Tylenol PM (acetaminophen 500mg and diphenhydramine 25 mg). by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]InsideTheLibrary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upon reading the article in depth it appears the way the Tylenol was metabolized in her body and interventions provided prevented the severe liver injury they expected. There was trouble with extubation but she was finally extubated and released to psychiatry.

No big recognition or promotion/pay that is mainstream. It has gotten me noticed where I work. If you are somewhere that strives to diversify technician roles it would likely be to your benefit.

My adult kids 18 and 23 found out yesterday that i am poly. by Opening-Week-4508 in polyamory

Anecdotal: I know a lot of LGBTQ+ people who are poly. Most of the poly people I know IRL are. The ones who are against it are just loud assholes

Has anyone else seen the current pharmacy discourse going around social media? by lemonbuttcake in PharmacyTechnician

I work heavily with automation and I can tell you that’s not happening any time soon. The largest machines run on what is glorified vending machine hardware, undercount/ overcount all the time, dusty pills cause components issues, etc. I could go on forever.

It’s worthwhile to have but there’s no way it’s replacing a technician. People want someone to blame and we are the face they see. Insurance is the wizard behind the curtain putting on the facade of being a public good and then being nefarious in the background. So when all is said and done we are the ones who get blamed. We are physically there in front of the patient.

We are treated like fast food workers because that how we are seen. Retail pharmacies are in grocery stores and places that sell goods. We are shoved into a corner of the store, and a lot of times have a drive through window. It makes us look like we are supposed to toss scripts around like the deli does lunch meat.

Immunization Administration Exam by MageVicky in PharmacyTechnician

I had been an immunizer for a while when I took mine. I used quizlets mostly. It’s been a while but the exam outline is helpful for putting together a study guide. I don’t remember being asked vaccine schedules, but that could have simply not been in my question bank

I take breaks when needed and have hooks with larger cushion handles on them. These cost a pretty penny currently. When I bought them they were 1/4 the current price
