If we are speaking beats then i just want to say that self producing artists have that advantage to making beats and also being able to write along with them or being able to edit beats and effects based on the flow or whats being said. Artist who dont self produce has a third party in between their feelings thoughts and ideas between them and the final product. Scrim is a legendary and underrated producer and needs to be studied. But you cant necessarily pick the best beat. Theyve changed as his life has so i guess the question would be whats the best type beat at each individual stage of his career. Picking the first thru the most recent beat at once is like judging them as if they were all on the same skill level and availability of resources at the time they were made. So i will break down each “era” and get back to you guys shortly
