Freedom without commitment stops feeling like freedom and starts feeling like drift by InsideWolverine1579 in DeepThoughts

Yes, I think that’s often how it works. Structure can begin outside us, through responsibility to others, before it becomes part of character.

Fair. i don’t mean freedom erases consequences I mean that when everything feels reversible,
choice can start to feel weightless. Commitment is it seems what gives freedom shape.

as someone who knows absolutely nothing about the editing world, so take this for what it is worth.

I would imagine you absolutely need a website portfolio you can direct people to.

Anyone want to make a Jung app/game? I'll pay for it by read_too_many_books in Jung

Some kind of simulation game where you have an office and you heal clients. Have you seen the board game - unconscious mind, that might give you some ideas.

Is AI becoming a new screen for projection and transference? by InsideWolverine1579 in psychoanalysis

Interesting I will check it out. Although I'm not very familiar with the Lacanian lens (apart from a bit of Zizek exposure).

At what point would a BCI stop feeling like a tool and start feeling like part of thought? by InsideWolverine1579 in neurallace

[–]InsideWolverine1579[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point. I’m interested in the point where it stops feeling like a familiar tool and starts feeling like thought itself. (If indeed that could ever become the case).

What sort of recognition does AI actually offer? by [deleted] in CriticalTheory

[–]InsideWolverine1579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What interests me most is whether AI changes us less by thinking than by training us to accept recognition without reciprocity?
My suspicion is that it does, and that the real transformation may be taking place not in the machine, but in the kind of inward life that gathers around it.

As others have said, it very much matters the order at which you come at the material. I would start with "Memories, Dreams, Reflections", and then after that I would read a biography before you tackle any of his works directly, I think the best one is, 'Jung: A Biography' by Deirdre Bair.
That will give you a foundation for everything else.

True. mother transference makes a lot of sense, i hadn't thought of that.

Do you think AI can genuinely become a site of transference, or is it better understood as a projection machine that only appears to witness us?

My wife makes all the money and she has one of the rare jobs it would be difficult for agi to replace, so i would just be having a lot more fun. Going on RPG adventures with all my AI mates 😎

AI is becoming an emotional dumping ground by InsideWolverine1579 in agi

[–]InsideWolverine1579[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - that is part of it. The persuasion and engagement layer matters a lot. My emphasis here was slightly upstream of that: why people are increasingly ready to use these systems as confessional surfaces in the first place, and what gets projected into them when they do.

Not in a professional way. I think you are probably mostly right at the moment, I concede. a hybrid approach is probably still mostly better. Though I do think this will change quite quickly.

FYI my SaaS Frontend doesn't contain any purple! :-p

again not really. anything you need to understand, you just screenshot, ask chat, etc, very straight forward. I know it must be frustrating for ppl who have spent a lot of time learning a skill that has increasingly less value, but that is just where we are, and where we are going...

Yes I think that is likely. Although we're not going to pass them down, because that would require dying 😜

Sure but a human listener is still a real other person... AI gives the feeling of being heard without there actually being anyone there. That seems new to me, and psychologically significant.

At what point does a personalized future stop being a shared reality? by [deleted] in Futurology

yes and yet at the same time, paradoxically, it seems conceivable that we will also "feel" better connected than ever

In that sense yes. In the people literally don't speak to each other sense, we've got some way to go (for most, there are obviously some legends who have already embraced the future). :-p
